Course Curriculum Overview
Total of 19 subjects over 5 years and 6 months of medical school. Electives like compulsory subjects included anatomy, biochemistry, physiology, pathology, pharmacology, forensic medicine, microbiology, medicine are there for the students to master other streams also.
Placement Experience
The college does not have as such direct placements from here. The college only provides one internship course of the duration of 1 year in which students are being offered with the stipend around Rs 14,000. After this, NEET PG exam is being conducted from where the students are being selected according to their scores and availability of seats.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Since it is a private medical college, the college is a little high but very hard to get in. The college is affordable too as the fee is only Rs 11 lakhs per annum. All the students from middle-class families can afford it too but cracking the examination and getting a good rank to get into the college is very difficult.
Campus Life
There is an annual college festival in DECCAN COLLEGE OF MEDICAL SCIENCES. Students from other medical colleges participate in cultural activities and competitions including debates and plays. All the societies are easy to register in and that too without any fee required.
Hostel Facilities
There was a hostel on the campus and undergraduates were sharing two students, in one room the space was about 15 feet by 12 feet, with separate beds, study table and almirahs. Hostel fees were about Rs 80,000 per year and there was a common mess, serving both veg and non veg meals.
Admission
The admission entirely depends upon clearing the NEET entrance examination test to enroll in the 5-year course of BACHELOR OF MEDICINE, BACHELOR OF SURGERY. Also, you need at least 50% marks to 10+2 for getting admission here.
Faculty
All the faculty members are learned and respected members of the doctor community they are always engaged in research and clinical professors were guest invitees to our medical colleges and considered authorities in their respective subjects.
