Remarks

I have great things to say about my college, because I am grateful for it!The teachers, my classmates, all converted a shy little girl to a confident woman, who was ready to make her own decisions and succeed in life.

Course Curriculum Overview

The B.A [Hons] English course is 3 years long and explores several aspects of English language and literature. The course entails meticulous studying, analysing and summarising of the texts studied throughout.

Placement Experience

In English department, usually not many people apply for jobs. Most students prefer to pursue a higher degree. Yet, the college holds workshops and calls in professors and career counsellors to advice us on our future steps.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The college fee is quite affordable and most people don't have a problem with it. In Year 1, you pay Rs 3120 and then in the next two consecutive years, you pay Rs 2867. Thus the total fee comes to Rs 8854 for 3 years.

Campus Life

Dance and music competitions are very frequent in our college! Besides that, the facilities are great- the labs are huge and have all equipment required. The library is stuffed with almost 40,000 books and e-resources.

Admission

The application process for college admission takes place completely online. In May, after your 12th results are out, if you have scored over 55%, then you are eligible for application. You will be granted admission if you feature in the merit list.

Faculty

All of our faculties hold post-graduate degrees in English and many of them are UGC-NET qualified! My favourite teacher has to be the head of our department, Professor Supriti Debnath, who takes the best of the classes.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The syllabus of the course is pretty nice with diversified subjects alsong with specialization subjects in the 3rd and 4th semester. Some compulsory subjects include Tagore Studies and Basics of Communication. The course also includes Development Communication, Online media, Journalism, Gender studies, Advanced Audio Visual Production. The department is well equipped a mac lab but it only have 5 macs. The curriculum also includes Design, UIUX, Graphics design etc, and the curriculum is continuously updating with moden media teachings. The curriculum mostly prepare us for Academic Purposes than Industry.
