Remarks

Being a new course, the management literally failed to provide it with some key elements of a solid foundation.

Entrance Preview

I took NMAT after 12th grade. I was in the first 100 ranks. I took this course because it gave me the best of both worlds. I got my engineering education alongside management lessons.

Course Curriculum Overview

3

The curriculum was custom developed for the need of technology managers in the industry. The engineering electives had a several subjects related to production engineering such as machine tools, work ergonomics etc.

Internships Opportunities

Internship was on self help mode. The college didn't do much to get cream companies for the internship. Most students found internship at various companies on their own efforts. Some were placed through college in small companies.

Placement Experience

3

Placements were too great at the start, but eventually after 5 years, all our batchmates are working with the best of the firms in the world in their fields like Goldman Sachs, Morgan stanley, Nomura etc.

College Events

4

There were events round the year. We had 2 flagship festivals every year as the techfest and the management fest. Organisers were mostly students with support from faculty to connect with industry persons.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fees were relatively inexpensive. It ranged between 1-2 lakhs per year for 5 years. They were subsequently increased as the popularity of the course increased.

Fees and Financial Aid

For loans the college had a tie up with SBI branch nearby which offered good interest rates.Every year students who stood 1st-3rd were offered a decent cash prize

Campus Life

3.5

It was decent, mostly dependent on student initiative. The students had to do a lot of jugaad with the authorities to get sports event and all that going.

Hostel Facilities

3

Hostel facilities and mess were decent. It wasn't very expensive. The options were decent and food quality was good.

Alumni/Alumna

We were only in the 2nd batch. Interactions with SBM batch were limited after 2nd year as we shifted to our own campus. The course started in 2004. 11 batches have passed out and 5 are currently enrolled. That's approx 1600 students. However, there's exists no strong alumni network which has gathered even 50% of this group.

Exam Structure

They followed a trimester pattern i.e. Three terms a year. Each term had Mid terms exam along with a Presentation or assignments for each subject.

Faculty

3

The engineering faculty was from DJ sanghvi and Management faculty was from school of business management, NMIMS. Very good teachers. The college recruited its own teachers during the later year who proved to be sub par.

Placement Experience:

The placement opportunity is great, but you have to maintain a good grade with zero backlogs. The campus placement cell offers multiple opportunities, but mostly students from the Engineering department got the highest LPA rather than other specialisations.

Placement Experience:

Placements are good, during our batch it was pretty low because of the recession and other economic parameters. In MBA mostly the companies come for marketing jobs so mostly the jobs offered was sales, but as the college has became university i think every process has been changed and could result in good placement.

Placement Experience:

1) students become eligible for placements just after they complete their second semester examinations 2) only local companies visited to our colleges such as per Pooja, weblink services etc which were very small scale local organisations offering very poor packages to the students 3) the average package that my batch got was 2.lakhs per annum and the highest was 6 lpa where before admission the college claimed the average packages to be 6lpa and Highest to be above 10lpa 4) the percentage of students getting placed is not more than 10-15% 5)my plans after getting the degree is to look for better companies outside my college because my college hasn't been helpful in terms of placements in any manner .

Remarks:

College is almost good .this for those who want only masters but no placement .if you also want to get placed in any company need only degree ur welcome. The management is worst the nonteaching staff doesn't know how to talk with students especially the admission office. I here declare whatever I have seen and suffered I presented my view about this college to you, not it's your choice to go to heaven like symbiosis or choose hell. I was misguided and helpless so I came here means I got fewer marks in a snap so please students appear for snap sincerely.
