Remarks
On an overall level, the college is good management and students, all are friendly you will enjoy your college life.
Entrance Preview
I took CAT 2011 and scored a decent score. I chose this college because of the ROI that it provides. The fee is comparatively less as compared to other MBA colleges which is the major plus point. The student exchange program provides a platform to gain international exposure (in case you are selected for the program, all the costs are borne by the college.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum was recently revamped (the year I joined i.e 2011). The college recently received the ABP award for its industry ready curriculum. The curriculum is well designed and is inspired by the IIMs.
Internships Opportunities
With respect to internships, I did not get much help from the college some students did find internships through the college, but I suppose they were not paid any/fat stipends during the period. None converted into PPOs (this is specific to my batch).
Placement Experience
Placement isn't that great but opportunities are available, especially for students with an engineering background and with about 2-3 years of work experience. Some of my batch mates landed into amazing opportunities while the placed to non-placed ratio of the batch continued to remain low.
College Events
As far as the MBA department is concerned, they have a small fest that is conducted once a year. Usually we enjoy all the events that the engineering department organizes, viz Engineer and the Incident. These are grand events, the former being a technical and the latter being a cultural fest.
Fee Structure And Facilities
This is probably the most feasible (read cheapest) college with a nice brand name you would spend around 2.5 lakhs for the entire course, including hostel and food.
Fees and Financial Aid
Scholar loans are available with the SBI branch of the college (education loan at low interest rates). Other private scholarships can be availed. Students from backward communities get discount in their fees and I believe also receive some sorts of scholarships.
Campus Life
Campus life is quite lively a lot of opportunities to participate in extra curricular activities during the time of fests. The college has a gym and other arrangements for students aspiring to follow other sports, both indoor and outdoor no discrimination on the basis of religion, caste or any other factors.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel is good food is pathetic most of the times we used to eat in the nearby restaurants. I doubt if the condition of food is going to change any time soon.
Alumni/Alumna
For engineers graduating from the college, the alumni network is quite strong. For MBA's there was very little/no alumni support during my time. The college/students has/have taken an initiative to form a strong alumni network to bolster the placements. Its still in its infancy and is likely that will develop into a full blown program in a few years.
Exam Structure
Exams leave you with a hectic day most of the exams are organized in such a way that they are finished in a small period of time, usually about a week. Most questions are practical applications of the theories, however this differs from course to course.
Faculty
The faculty are highly knowledgeable most of them (now probably all) hold a Ph.D in their respective fields. Many of them have industry experience learning is activity based most of the times.
