Course Curriculum Overview

Course comprises basics of every branch of Engineering and subjects then focus in Mechanical engineering curriculum. Fluid and Mechanics are important.

Internships Opportunities

Internship is possible for all students in college. In our branch Tata Steel, Hyundai, Godrej give paid interships along many other companies. Stipend varies from 5,000 to 10,000 rs.

Placement Experience

Placement is the best feature of our institute. Average placement package is 4.5 lakhs in our branch. Tata steel, Tata motors, Hyundai, Honda, Maruti Suzuki, Hindalco, Tech Mahindra, SSWL, L&T, IBM, Infosys, Wipro, TCS are some of the names.

College Events

Utkarsh- Annual cultural fest. 1500-2000 persons appear. Ojass- Annual Techno-management fest. 2nd largest festivak in East India.Annual Athletics meet.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee structure is feasible. But after recent changes I think fee is more now. Foreign students have to pay more than 2,50,000 rupees per sem. But you can easily apply for student loans.

Campus Life

Campus life is a bit boring. If you are not a proactive person, then you'll not have much to do here. But we do have cricket, football, badminton matches and tournaments. Also we have tennis court in outdoor, and Table tennis in indoor. There are clubs for extra-curricular activities.

Alumni/Alumna

Alumnus is pretty strong. We have annual Alumni meet in our institute. Also we have Reunions. Students get chance to interact with Seniors and alumni.

Faculty

Faculty is pretty strong. Most of our professors have done PhD. But don't expect to learn a lot from class. If you are witful you might get help from them.

Placement Experience:

At the end of 6th semester student get internship offers and become eligible for placement. Around 150 companies visit every year and 400 to 500 offers are made it also depends on year but you can find recent datas on College website. It has a very strong aluminium network as this is an older college around 70 years old. Many companies like Amazon,Flipkart ,Microsoft ,deloit ,Accenture,L&T ,Tata steel,TCS ,coal India,TVS, mahindra, tata motors visit here. Once you obtain degree from this college there is a very high chance that you will get placed around 10 lpa if you are a good student. However unfortunately you don't get placed you can also try off campus else you need to prepare for other government competitive exams. Around 70-80% get placee every year. How ever this number is high in case of core branches like mechanical chemical production and industrial because this college is located in Ranchi Jharkhand where tech companies visit less and core companies visit more. CS is considered best branch but the number of students is also high in these branches.

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for internship after 4th semester , after 6th semester the companies start coming for regular placement For cse the average was around 20 lpa with median being 16-17 lpa Companies that generally visit are - atlassian, Amazon, flipkart , BNY Mellon, cisco, Texas Instruments etc Around 140 offers were made and in a batch of 120, 100 have secured placement Placement percentage is around 92% Highest package - 65 lpa atlassian (on campus) 1.23 cr rubrik (off campus) Lowest package - 7 lpa Average - 18 - 20 lpa

Life at NIT JAMSHEDPUR

Placement Experience:

After about 6th semester the students are eligible for placements in my college and the average package is really good of my college it is about 12 lakhs for all branches. The highest package of computer science was 83 lakhs per annum, and in 2023 the average packing job CSE was 27 lakh per annum but in 2024 due to recession it went down to 20 lacs per annum. Apart from that many companies like Google Amazon Tata TCS Infosys Wipro cognizant and many IT sector companies visit in our company. Apart from that the core branches also have good placement records. About 95% students get placed in civil engineering department and 100% student gets placed in metallurgy department 96% student gets placed in production engineering department and 94% student gets placed in electronics department and about 97% student gets in computer science department also there is a new department called ECM. Main students also qualify gate exam from my college.

From 3rd year one can go for placements, they are eligible. Campus placements do happen. Infosys, tcs, wipro, and many more companies visit here and hire the most skilled engineers. The percentage is obviously really good. A minimum of 80% of the students get placed in good-paying jobs.

i have applied for IITs but could not able to get beacuse of slightly lower ranks i didnt get rejection from other colleges as got admission throughJOSSA in NIT jamshedpur admission is solely done through JOSSA . one must take JEE MAINS first then must have a good CRL 0f LIKE 10000 TO 15000 for general category of other state if you are from jahrkhand you can get in lower rank too like 20000 crl rank if you are a general student else it might get lower for the othe category depending upon your category...Read More

1.I choose this college because of its reputation over campus placements. It has high placement percentage. 2. I got NIT Jalandhar cse and NIT Raipur CSE but i preffered NIT Jamsedpur ece due to its high campus placement percentage. 3.The main entry for joining in NIT Jamsedpur was through JEE mains exam. I did choose this college because it is quite old and reputed, being a govt college it has lesser fees and offered good placements, I got IIIT Lucknow as well, but didn't opt for it as it was quite new and didn't have proper hostel and residence facilities at that moment. Life at NIT JAMSHEDPUR

I also got Birla institute of technology Mishra college Ranchi, but because of very high fees I choosed National institute of technology Jamshedpur. Apart from that nit jamshedpur have a good placement record as compared to other colleges that I was getting and it has a little bit of low fees as compared to other private colleges. I wanted to go on IIT Delhi but I what rejected in JEE advanced exam. Apart from this I was selected for any other colleges. And for taking admission in my college a student have to qualify JEE mains exam with good percentile. Then they have to fill jossa counselling for getting admission into colleges where you have to choose NIT Jamshedpur as first preference or an any other college that you want as first preference. Also you have to secure 75% in 12th board of CBSE board students. Otherwise even if you get good percentile in JEE exam still you won't be able to join any NIT college of India. The minimum percentile for getting here is about 97.5 percentile for general student and 96% tile for OBC students...Read More
