Course Curriculum Overview

The course curriculum for B.Com Hons. is deigned very concisely so that students have knowledge about all the aspects of the subject. The students can also select an elective of their choice which they want to study about like economics, psychology, history, etc. The duration of the course is 3 years and it is further divided into 6 semesters so that students can understand the course easily and thoroughly.

Placement Experience

The college has a particular cell catering to internships and placements opportunities that conduct mock interviews and provide industry interface to students so they have proper knowledge about the placement rounds and are able to ace it.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fees structure for all the courses in Kaliyaganj College are very affordable and student friendly. B.Com Hons. course costs a total of Rs. 9,120 and can be paid fully or partially in installments of Rs. 3,040 each year.

Campus Life

The college has students coming from various backgrounds be it socially, economically, culturally and geographically and the college helps in providing equal opportunities to all the students which is its primary motto. The college organizes a number of fests throughout the year where various students get to showcase their talent.

Admission

I am currently pursuing B.Com (Hons.) from Kaliyaganj College, West Bengal. The eligibility criteria to get an admission in this course is to have passed 10+2 with an aggregate of at least 50% marks and it is compulsory for candidates to have studied English and Mathematics. Thus, the students will be selected based on the qualifying examination marks.

Faculty

The faculty of the college is very disciplined and punctual and believe in taking classes regularly. The professors are available throughout the day in case a student faces any problem regarding a topic and are extremely supportive.

The everyday journey

Likes

I liked the campus . Their people and faculties are too great , they are also helpfull
The other thing i liked here is the play ground where students play with full of their energy and many game events are organised ocationally
The other thing i liked is the library where everyone use to study silently with poking others

Dislikes

Bad benches , like benches are too small to be fitted in our class I
In our department ac doesn’t work properly

The Techno Experience

Likes

Practical Exposure with hands on training is always good for personal growth
The laboratories were well equipped with state of the art instruments
Entrepreneurship was encouraged and it really helped us with designing future start ups.

Dislikes

Lack of scholarships for the needy is one thing that needed to be worked on.
There was a distinct lack of encouragement to pursue extracurricular activity.
Sometimes it felt like it would have helped if we had a mental health counsellor onboard with the department.

Placement Experience:

Techno India University has a strong campus placement. Several students got jobs during the last semester, and I am one of them. Some others choose to wait for better opportunities. Some joined good startups. The package was nominal as we were all freshers. After getting my degree, I planned to pursue corporate experience and then join a lab for my PhD.

Faculties are helpful and kind and the classroom environment is healthy
Classroom, labs and libraries have proper infrastructure
Certificates are provided for participating in conferences or extracurricular activities

Placement Experience:

Placement is provided in final year . Average package offered is 3 to 4 lpa . Paid internship is provided in 3rd year and the placement percentage is more or less ok. After complication i will either pursue Msc or look for a job.

They provide you with various oppertunities like exposure visits, seminar , worshops, etc.

Dislikes

Labs are not well maintained the machines are very slow

In case of my couse everything is coverd but it would have been much better of they focus on practicals more rather than theory. If they make us aware of all the new technologies that are used in the industry.

No strict college there is not compulsory to wear college uniform
Faculty are good they are supportive helpful

College campus is small infrastructure is not good

Curricullum is quite ok crowd of students are more coding culture should be introduced need of improvement of infrastructure as well in my batch 2023 to 2027 there is total 3 exam in each semester including end sem and 2 test

Likes

Faculty is really good and helping they do help !
Labs are taken on time and is made clear to us very well
Teacher are very good and friendly for us

Dislikes

I disliked the fact that the rooms get too hot during sumer
There should have been one ac that could have turned on in classes during hot , except smart class room and auditorium
Nothing as much , some little stuffs that are everywhere nowadays in college

Exams are generally spaced well throughout the smemstwr allowing adequate time for preperation , how ever the frequenxy can sometimes be overwhelming particulary during peak study periods , but the diffulty level isnt that concerning and they are easy

Placement Experience:

The University Provides Placements options for the students from the 3rd Semester onwards. For the Department of Geography Companies like - GeoDesign and Research PVT. Limited, Wipro, Acadecraft Pvt limited, Cactus etc. are there as recruiters with an average package of 3 LPA. University takes a target to 100 % placement among then almost 60% are placed and rest of the students mainly go to the research field.

Placement Experience:

Since the syllabus is quite up to date, students learn a lot and are way ahead of their age group students. Most of the students qualify for placements with attractive packages. The university also encourages internships that carry credits in their academic report.

Kaliyanganj College is one of the largest colleges in Kaligganj in the North Dinajpur district of West Bengal. The college, affiliated with the University of Gaur Banga, offers undergraduate courses. It is approved with NAAC B ++.
