College and Course Review

WBUT course structure was followed by college. No industry specific knowledge provided to the student. Only theoretical knowledge provided. Labs are not bad but the professor are not experienced in the lab to provide industry specific knowledge. College does not provide any industrial visits. They told that you can arrange it by your own.

Placement are very bad in this college. Almost zero percent placement for core branch and 10 percent for IT and computer science students. No, I never got the recruitment from the college. I got the job from the off-campus drive.

Cultural and techninal events like Robotics, sports and cultural programs are held by students not by the college. Student need to contribute for the events and some partial amount was given by college to conduct the annual event. But the events was big when we conducted at our time. Bands like Underground Authority and multi college robotics competition happened at that time.

Fees according to the course was expensive. There was total 8 semester and we have to pay 60000 to 64000 per semester. In this 38000 for college fees and 24000 for hostel fees. College fees was defined by WBUT but they charged extra on the accomodation and food.

No, I didn't opted for any scholarship as college didn't provide the information. Yes I have taken the educational loan of 3 lakh which was already paid to the bank.

Mine was Electrical engineering course which is a core branch. So the count of female student is low. So there are 12 female student was there against 54 male in our branch. Play Ground Infrastructure is superb. There is lush green maintained 100 meter ground for cricket and football. There is also seprate court for basketball and volleyball. In extracurricular activities NSS, Karate training was also given at free of cost. When talking about the student diversity, the students are from West Bengal, Bihar, Assam, Tripura, Jharkhand. And there was no incident happened based on religion, race or sexually. That is very well maintained by the students as well as from the college management.

It's optional but yes I was in the hostel. Its on the sharing basis. 2 person in a room without attached bathroom costs 48000 annually. 2 person in a room with attached bathroom costs 60000 annually. Seperate room cost 72000 annually. Infrastructure of hostel was good but the food was not good.

Admission was based on the WBJEE entrance rank wise. I secured 17311 rank in WBJEE and got the EE course in this college through counseling conducted by WBUT(West Bengal university and technology). It was held on the May month of 2011. So we choose the branch in this college and deposit the demand draft of Rs. 5000 there and rest of the money deposited in the college at the time of admission.

Some of the lectures are very good but some are not experienced. Overall the faculty are average and management are very strict on faculties. Average age would be 38 to 40. Yes the lectures are industry experience but due to lack of experience in teaching they didn't pass their experience to the students.
