Based on academic result, strong alumni network, learning infrastructure, in campus facilities, campus events and financial feasibility I consider this very good college.
Course Curriculum Overview
Curriculum was groomed to provide industry specific training, specially industrial training to different relevant industry in surrounding helped a lot in conceptualize the class learning in real life. It was helpful in campus. There are several industry visit for students.
Placement Experience
Currently placement of my college is very good. around 75% of students gets placed in campus. Institute has special PR and Placement cell working closely with student and industry to train students as per need of company.
College Events
Culfest : It was 2 days event with participants from Easter zone engineering college. Spring fest : within college. Annual sports meet : Field and track events. Inter department Cricket tournament. Inter college sports events in Cricket, Volleyball, TT, Hocket etc.
Fee Structure And Facilities
It was government funded college so almost all fees were highly subsidized. fees were feasible. College use to have separate fees for each item e.g- annual hostel fees, annual education fees, exam fees etc. Apart from these we also had mess fees which was the only fee not subsidized.
Fees and Financial Aid
I have availed a merit scholarship based on merit. The scholarship was good enough to cover my hostel fees.
Campus Life
Campus was very big, one end to other end was more than 3 km. The gender ratio was 3:7 where 3 female and 7 male. Campus was very lively because it has canteen, Swimming pool, gym, cooperative, bank, post office, Railway stations and own Cinema Hall. It had music club, Arts club, Model club, Rotary club and Gandhi Rachnatmak Samiti. The regular events organized by these clubs made the campus very lively.
Hostel Facilities
This college had hostels for every students. Hostel was single room with sharing washroom. Since it was government owned so hostel fees were highly subsidized. The annual fees was 1200. Each hostel had a common room for students to watch TV and entertain themselves. There was also a common room with all indoor facilities like TT, Carom etc. The hostel was under 24 hour supervision of a gate keeper.
Alumni/Alumna
The college started in 1949, so a pool of strong alumni and network exists. Alumni are very helpful in supporting and providing right guidance on need.
Admission
I have prepared for entrance exam and got qualified for the same. After exam qualification we have appeared for counseling and I chose this college because, it was best college of the state, industrial surrounding, strong Alumni, Good faculties and learning facilities, large and Good campus.
Faculty
Average age of faculty is around 50 and they were very capable. Some of professors had mix of industry and education experiences. Some of professors have done their masters and doctorate from universities in USA and UK. Few of professors were visiting faculty to some of other colleges in the eastern India.
