Remarks

The institution which moulded me to be a good person.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

Chemistry was my main subject and supplementary subjects were physics and mathematics. Languages chosen were English and Hindi. The curriculum included periodic assessments, quarterly and yearly examinations. Various steps to equip the students to secure a decent job after graduation.

Placement Experience

3

In the 1970s there were no campus selection procedures. After passing out students either go for postgraduate studies or apply for jobs. The faculty supported them to get admission for higher studies and getting suitable placements.

College Events

4

So many events were conducted in our college annually. Those programs include cultural fests, annual sports, science exhibitions, educational tours, cricket football and hockey inter zone matches and annual day celebrations. The above celebrations were conducted with the full cooperation of all.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure was very reasonable. Concessions were given to economically backward students. The fee was very much affordable and could be paid in instalments. There was no capitation or donation to get admission. Everything was very transparent and there were no hidden charges.

Fees and Financial Aid

There were many endowment scholarships for students to again. Apart from that government scholarships were also there. I got a scholarship given by the central government.

Campus Life

5

The gender ratio was almost 50/50. The sex ratio so was very healthy. Cultural and extracurricular activities were organised to develop a healthy relationship among students. There was no discrimination of gender race or etoxicity. The class atmosphere was very pleasing.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

No.I was a day scholar. But the hostel facility was not sufficient to accommodate the requirement. The college hostel was well maintained and the food was also very good. Fees are very reasonable. So many PG hostels were also nearby. They were also good.

Alumni/Alumna

Yes, Alumni meets are conducted every year which is a very nostalgic feeling. We could trace 70 percent of our friends. Sharing our experience in life is a great feeling.

Admission

Marthoma college Tire Valladolid is one of the renowned colleges in central Travancore. The admission process includes marks received in 12th followed by an interview. I chose Chemistry as the main subjecting for multiple graduation course. It was a 3 years degree course from 1971 to 1975.

Faculty

5

The faculty was dedicated and well equipped to impart knowledge to the students. All were well qualified and gave attention to the development of each and every student they teach. They were always approachable and very encouraging. They paid attention to the all round development of students.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum is almost best. Curriculum doesn't influenced me in deciding this course. Curriculum should add internships. Currently there is no mandatory internship, if students are interested they can do internship during vacations. As we are learning psychology which need to be practiced in real world settings, curriculum must include real world training to help students understand things more effectively. Currently intervel between exams are non existent. Internal exams, then semester exams, you blink once, next internal exams, followed by semester exams. Syllabus is understandable, can learn if you try. Exams are also manageable. Real world examples and stories can be included in teaching methods, as psychology is related to humans and human interaction, to get better grasp of concepts. Rather than focusing on passing exam, should focus on the concepts and understand them in-depth. There are a lot of theories to study by heart. And there are many repetitive topics that overlap, but in different semesters.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I feel in love with mathematics in plus two time. The coursee are more application based when compared to other. Out college being an autonomous college has good grip to keep up to the level of good education. Overall teaching methods and syllabus are very good. Frequency of exams are troublesome during the last time of year because all the programmes like youth festival annual day etc come together

Course Curriculum Overview:

My course is Bsc Biotechnology. It is a research associated course. Its main scope is in research. But in every industry let it be medical or industrial a biotechnologist is required. I would like more practical knowledge than theory knowledge in this course as it is needed to be implemented in labs hands on experience is essential. Exams are conducted every 6 months as semester. Class tests and model exams are conducted frequently. Assignments, projects, seminar ,etc.. are given every month.
