Lifetime Experience

I had take JEE exam for entry in B.Tech. I had score around 70% in that examination. I wanted to become mechanical engineer from my school days. I had get that opportunity to achieve my goal. Seacom was well renowned engineering college with excellent infrastructure thats why I opted for it.

B.Tech is a four year full time course with 2 semesters in each year. 1st semester was same for every department. Main subjects were Thermodynamics, Production Engineering, Heat Transfer, IC Engine, Machine Design etc.

Different well known companies came for internship programs in final year. Like cognizent, TCS, Tech Mahindra, Volvo, Paharpur Cooling Tower, Jackson Limited, Philips, ISCO, ISMT etc. It was exceptional interactive programme and first industrial experience for us. We have learned a lot regarding machines and production techniques. They were giving 5000 rs stripend to us.

Arrond 95% students were placed in different organization like Tisco, ISMT, TCS, Wipro, Cognizent, Mahindra & Mahindra and many other well reputed players in industry. Initially for 6 months they were offering 15000 to 25000 INR for GET rank.

There were different cultural programs held in our college like Rabindra Jayanti, Engineers dayTechnical competition regarding machine tools.It was mammoth event. Around 1000 students participated.

In each semesters we had to pay 22500 INR. It was quite normal.Hostel fee 5000 INR per year extra .Admission fee 15000 INR extra.Caution money 5000 INR. Lab fees 5000 INR in each year. Library fees 2500 INR in every Semester.Industrial Training fees were 5000 INR

Our college had financial relationship with 2 private banks for loan purpose. I did not take education loan but many of my friends took with relatively low interest rate.

I will not forget some great worm moments of campus life till my death. It was awesome. We had around 60:40 boys to girls ratio in our college. They had came from different cultural, ethnic and religious background. Though majority of students were Bengali Hindus but we had great harmony amongst all.

Hostel was very neat and clean and well decorated. It was just 5 min away from college. 5000 INR had to submit extra per year for maintenance charge. Number of rooms were adequate for the students and equipped with all modern facilities.

Exam structure was divided in three parts.Internal, Lab and final written examination in every semesters. It was really hectic. Though lab examinations were very interesting and enjoyable.

Standard of faculties were excellent. Every professor had clear understanding and deep knowledge in subjects. They always encouraged us to understand the subject in very lucid manner.
