Remarks

This university is the best according to the marks that I got in JEE-MAINS. I choose the oldest branch in the college. I liked machines from childhood so I wanted mechanical engineering. Also I knew that kerala has very nice atmosphere.

Course Curriculum Overview

I didn't like the syllabus though. There is very less interaction with the machines in this college. Most of the lab experiment are performed by pg students and ug won't remember much of the experiment after 13 weeks when exams are taken.

Internships Opportunities

I got Internship in reliance and the stipend given to me was 60 thousand along with free accomodation and travel charges.

Placement Experience

There are many companies that visit the college but like every college only computer science students get the highest package. There is a start up cell and it is funded by the MHRD so anyone with good idea can work on it.

College Events

There are many extracurricular activities. There are two main yearly activities RAGAM and TATHVA being cultural and technological fests respectively. The first one is very big and a number of colleges participate.

Campus Life

Very nice internet speed everywhere in the college. Very nice buildings. Although they are not very tall like other colleges but they are very broad with so nice architecture of every building. You can find all the sports facility and everything is available for 24hrs.

Hostel Facilities

The hostels are not very good. But one hostel mega boys is very nice. All other hostels are very old and renovation doesn't do much for these as rooms are very small for number of occupants and in many hostels mobile networks are hard to find.

Placement Experience:

The placement here is top notch. This year in my campus the highest CTC offered was 56.5lpa by PALOALTO. Placements process is centralised at coimbatore though. Students are eligible for campus placements from third year or s5. Average package in computing department ranges from 10-12lpa. My plans after degree is to pursue MS: opportunities of which are provided by the college itself. In computing department almost 90% of the students have been placed according to the seniors I talked to. However it is lower in other streams.

Placement Experience:

As of what i spoke to the seniors they said that AI students got better placements compared to Core students and the average package is around 9LPA for CSE branches students and 7LPA overall for all the branches and there is CIR foundation classes where they teach us how to improve our communication skills and How to create a resume right from first year itself according to seniors it is very helpfull

An aspiring first year student’s review

Placement Experience:

Civil engineering is a course with least placement in every engineering colleges. Students are placed during their fourth year in college. Sobha Constructions Ltd is one of the main companies that visits college. 200000rupees package is the average package offered. Les than 25 percent civil engineers get placed. I plan to prepare for GATE exam and pursue more in this course.

I have choosen this college because it is of top 5 NITs and i am getting a good branch. I have apllied for remaining top nits also, but i got this for my jee mains rank( i couldn't make to other top nits because may be of lack of good preperation for jee). When compared to remianing NITs, this college has everything that every other NIT also have, the sports facilities here can be improved. Life at NITC by Vimosh Kumar

I wanted to get into Mechanical Engineering in any of the top NIT's so applied for all the NIT's in the NIRF ranking order with mechanical in every college so after the counselling happened to get into NIT Calicut. The admission process is through JoSAA Counselling where students come to the college after getting alloted but before that the student needs to clear the JEE Main Exam to get admitted into the college.
