Maratha Mandal Engineering College Belgaum, BE, Mechanical Engineering

Reviewed on Jun 23, 2020

Remarks

Actually I got this college by seat allotment through Karnataka CET as per my marks in the entrance exam and also for mechanical engineering it's one of the best college in Karnataka so I luckily got this college.

Course Curriculum Overview

My personal opinion on the given areas was too good. The academics was brilliant and the highly qualified staff makes it simple as it was. But daily curriculum was not bad because if the labs were not there then there will be misadjustment of the time table

Class Size: 120Course Fees: INR 240000 per year

Placement Experience

The placement is the Major issue in any of the institute before taking admission we also in search of the placement in our dream job but according to mine it was not good but medium as per the companies visited during our college . Basically this was the issue faced by everyone from mechanical engineering especially as the core companies are not coming so they have to go for IT company

College Events

We are organising a national level techno cultural fest named as ojas where students from different colleges from all over Karnataka Maharashtra and Goa participate in various events including some core branch events and also some cultural events like singing dancing fashion show etc. Also we are organising a national level technical fest named as plethora it's assembling and disassembling of various live and dead engines also the students can learn the knowledge from experienced technicians from royal Enfield Mahindra etc.

Campus Life

4.5

As my college is near the NH4 pune Bangalore highway and also surrounded by the forest so the look of the college was asthetic and infrastructure was good and campus area around 30 acres more of that trees are providing shadow throughout the season

Good Infrastructure and Career Opportunities

Likes

Yes the first thing I liked is the campus and the environment there is no harrasment and strict action will be taken.
And second thing is faculty members are so helpful and they always help to students and different festival
And also the campus provide all facilities and make helps to sports and ration is almost equal of boys and girls

Dislikes

Yes some things are there which I disliked first is the campus is very strict and no function are organised yearly ones or twice is very sad thing as compared to other campus
Second thing is food students facing some problem with the food which hear prepared so outsiders facing lot of problems
Third is about hostel facility is good but very strict only once a week the students should go out side and write leave letter to go there native places.

Placement Experience:

Students got opportunity to eligible after 3rd year mainly in 7th semester students get opportunity for campus interview. In my college the company which came to hire is congizent and microsoft and amezon and dell nearly 80 to 90 company are came. The company offers is highest is 40 lack per annum which google provide and minimum is 4lack . Mainly 80 percent of the students are placed every year but due to war happened in the global impact in placement I want to do masters in abroad and then go to the company

The great review

Likes

very first thing i like in the college is the wifi network,
the library which is very peace and silent
average places to take photos and nearby there is nandi hills to visit

Dislikes

i dislike the distance of the college, its too large, should walk soo much
the cost of stationaries in the general store
i dont think so faculy are that much expertise , only countable people worth it

Course Curriculum Overview:

see i have choosed this course because it is very relatable to CSE, coz my ranking was not sufficient to get this course. the course which i took "Information Science and Engineering" is really a good course. they make us real world engineers. the area they shld actually improve is, hiring worthable faculty.

Campus is good and mainly located near Whitefield.
too good supportive professor. Staff are too chill. Some staff are like our bestfriend's.
Lab equipment are good . You are not facing any issue with pc.. it's good

Dislikes

There is only few events in a year. I think only 3 events.
Hostel building is too bad. And hostel food is too bad.
There is no field to play games like cricket, football.

Placement Experience:

After 8 sems we are eligible for placements. TCS ,Dell and many companies visited mvj. Highest package of mvj was 22lakhs per annum. Basically some companies ask CGPA at above 8. My plan is a developer after my engineering in python language or Else I will continue my dad business

Insights of the Gopalan college of engineering and Management by a First Year Student

Likes

Canteen is fine has nice and tasty food and quite a lot of options
Library is also good has every book related to my course and few others as well
Lab facilities are also very nice and the college has a nice crowd

Dislikes

It's nothing like I expected, they don't let students use the ground or turfs. Facilities are pretty bad.
They charge money for everything and has zero facilities for college students. Everything is for there school students.
College is very small and the faculties are rude to students. (Mostly the case)

Placement Experience:

Student are eligible for placements from there 7th semester but I wouldn't recommend relying on college for placements. Not many companies come to this college so placements are really bad. If u have skills it would be better to apply to companies on your own. I don't have details on how many students gets placed but as much as I know it's about 30-50 % And average package is also very low. I plan of gaining skills and certification on my own and job hunting myself in 4th year through my connections and internships. Or maybe go abroad for masters As I'm a first year student I don't know much about which companies come and how much they offer.

We have a temporary campus .which was taken as rent in goverment engeneering college raichur .and permanent campus was yet to finish by the time juniors come the permanent campus will be getting finished.just needed the proper campus no improvments
The campus life was not as expected by a student because here the cluns are not very active like in any other colleges , u can enjot a lot with your friends in your hostel.
Every branch has a faculty adviser we can meet them and discuss our problems with them .the faculry were very good they were well experienced ,they teach in general way as any teacher does on a digital board.

Dislikes

The placement cell is not that good , the students were not getting places for good amount of package as expected .
The labs were not well maintained that should be resolved that is the main problem in this college as well as library we have a very small library which is in a size of a regular class
Hostel was not within the campus which makes some difficulty to walk through the streets with roaming buses and cars and bikes , in our college boy girl ration was very less it is 1: 7 like that.

Placement Experience:

From 6th semester students are eligible for taking interships and they get placed in 7th semester and have to leave campus after 8th semester the highest would somewhere aroubd 20 lpa and avg would be 9 to 10 lpa . I plan to do Mtech in any reputed college by writing gate . The percentage of studebts getting placed are 70 %

"The MMEC Buzz: Worth the Hype?"

The main reason to persue mechanical engineering in this college is few of my seniors are suggested me this college as the faculties of mechanical stream are good in teaching and mire approachable. Compare to other colleges the students of this college will never get placements in college because placement faculties will not put their effort towards students placements. So after graduation none of the students get job or internship after the graduation by this college. Comparatively other colleges this college is lagging behind in cultural and social activities due to faculty will not give any permission to organise cultural events. As lack of suppot towards carricular activities never ever any college or department event will not happen succesfully also they will not celebrate regional events like kannada rajyotsava or kannada habba. As my CET ranking is arount 40000 I got this college which has good faculty in mechanical stream compare to other colleges. Admission process is not that complex any student who completed PUC can do it easily. After once getting seat confirmed remaining process is easy. "As I know in present situation whole mechanical faculties changed. Senior lecturers are not there. They are replaced by non experienced faculty. So while taking admission check with seniors or other known people."...Read More

positive about my college is that it's far away from city so there is no distraction and noise affection due to traffic and all, and environment is greenray over hre it helps to study and have nice ground for the sports so that we are bored we can play outdoor and indoor sports so can charge up well and teaching is also very good and faculty are most experienced and helped me in extra co curricular activities also, the negative is far away from city so traveling time is little bit more over here and placements also not good over here but for learning is very good for those from financially poor background people....Read More

I did not have any idea about this college, when I professor(10+2) asked to me choose E&C saying it has good career option I went to CET and chose this course and when I was asked to choose college I chose MMEC because it was near to my hometown(Bagalkot) so thought it would be great and chose it blindly. Management is not so good but there are some faculty who are great at teaching. I scored 65% as couple of subjects didnt have faculty and we had to learn those on our own....Read More
