Remarks

It is the best girls college in Kolkata and it tops the college rankings frequently. In this college, classes are conducted as per a very well planned schedule and they actually cover the whole syllabus which makes you independent of undertaking any tutions.

My college has a very sincere teaching faculty which helps us in disciplining our lifestyle as well beyond academic education. Her students encounter various opportunities for self development as we have classmates from every corner of the state and the country.

Many different companies visit the campus such as Cognizant etc Not only job placement but the college has a placement cell for universities to pursue further studies. Students need to crack entrance exams followed by interviews by the hiring companies for internships and based on the quality of their work they get placements in various MNCs.

The college holds an Annual Fest every year. And regular cultural programs and seminars on burning issues as well as inter college and intra college events are held at regular intervals. But if one wants to focus on the studies specifically then they won't get enough time to participate in every event as students need to spend quite a lot of time in the library to prepare there assignments which is a part of college life here.

Campus Life

The campus is cover by soothing greenery all around. The college comprises of three main buildings and various well equipped laboratories, libraries and net surfing corners and also the canteens are worth a mention. Free WiFi is provided inside the campus. There are a sports court and open field to sit in the sunlight and study if one wishes.

Likes

One of the things i liked the most was the quality of lecture given by the professors
The campus is very spacious the college has every facility
A fully equipted studio and lab for Journalism students

Dislikes

Things i disliked was the most has to be the locality the college is really nice but the locality is a bit shady

I always wanted to take up Journalism as a career and the thing which caught my attention in this college is that they have a fully equipted studio room and other colleges may have one but the students even publish there own news report here it prepars us very well for the real world

Supportive Faculty - The professors are highly qualified, approachable and always willing to help students
Free wifi support - There are free wifi support for both student and faculty
Fee Structure - It is very affordable and low compared to other colleges in the region

Dislikes

Placement support is below average, and most studnets have to apply for off campus jobs independently, which is really pathetic in the era of ai where getting a job as a fresher is so difficult
There is no dedicated support or placment cell initiative to help studnets land meaningful summer internships or any kind of internships

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for campus placements starting from the 7th semester. For placement drives, we have to visit the main campus, Techno Main Salt Lake (TMSL). Since students from other Techno India campuses and branches also participate, the competition is extremely high. In the 2025–2026 academic year, fewer companies visited. Only two companies, Dronahost and WishCare, visited our specific campus directly. The remaining drives—mostly service-based companies like TCS and EY, along with a few startups—were conducted at the main campus. Furthermore the selection process of those startups is quite rigorous often consisting of upto 5 rounds of interview, two technical rounds with two technical interviews, and HR round My plans after getting the degree is either pursue an MBA or preparing for govt jobs

The everyday journey

Likes

I liked the campus . Their people and faculties are too great , they are also helpfull
The other thing i liked here is the play ground where students play with full of their energy and many game events are organised ocationally
The other thing i liked is the library where everyone use to study silently with poking others

Dislikes

Bad benches , like benches are too small to be fitted in our class I
In our department ac doesn’t work properly

Faculties are helpful and kind and the classroom environment is healthy
Classroom, labs and libraries have proper infrastructure
Certificates are provided for participating in conferences or extracurricular activities

Placement is provided in final year . Average package offered is 3 to 4 lpa . Paid internship is provided in 3rd year and the placement percentage is more or less ok. After complication i will either pursue Msc or look for a job.

Likes

The campus is big and full of greenery with the vibrant feel of nature.
The students of the same batch are friendly and helpful.
The teacher's are friendly and helpful. They do provide helpful recommendations for the betterment of your future.

Dislikes

The seniors are overly harsh when it comes to 1st year.
The infrastructure could be worked on. The college lacks renovation.
The hostel does require everyday cleaning and renovation as well as the campus.

Placement Experience:

I don't know much about this but I guess from the sixth semester the students are eligible for campus placements. This year a student from AEIE got a package of 11.2 lacs per annum and the average is around 4 lacs per annum.

Likes

The faculties are very good and very active. They are always ready to help
Campus is very beautiful and nice. Campus may be a little bit smaller but it is beautiful.
Environment is very good. And have a natural's beauty

Dislikes

Location is a thing which may difficult to find out.
Number of faculties are small quantity due to the college is newly established
Because of the college is new so therefore not huge like any NIT or IIT

After 6th semester students become eligible for campus placements. There many service based companies visited like TCS ,Cognizant, wipro, Infosys. Almost 60-70% student placed in on campus. Highest package offered by TCS 9-10lpa and Cognizant 6-7lpa wipro 6-7lpa infosys 10lpa etc. 60-70% student getting placement I will go for placement

Placement Experience:

The University Provides Placements options for the students from the 3rd Semester onwards. For the Department of Geography Companies like - GeoDesign and Research PVT. Limited, Wipro, Acadecraft Pvt limited, Cactus etc. are there as recruiters with an average package of 3 LPA. University takes a target to 100 % placement among then almost 60% are placed and rest of the students mainly go to the research field.

Placement Experience:

Since the syllabus is quite up to date, students learn a lot and are way ahead of their age group students. Most of the students qualify for placements with attractive packages. The university also encourages internships that carry credits in their academic report.

Everything you need to know before taking admission in Lady Brabourne College

I initially applied to Presidency University, Scottish Church College, Loreto College, Bethune. Taking the overall environment and faculty into consideration ( non union college) I opted for this college. Faced a rejection from Presidency and Loreto...but got into the rest two. The admissions are based off of 12th marks strictly. No other exams are accepted. One has to score very high to get into this college. Gen- above 95 Obc- 85 above Sc -75 above The above assumptions are just rough. One might be lucky enough to get into this college with lower marks or be unfortunate to not get into with much higher marks. Let's say a safe 90 above should be scored regardless of category. Lady Brabourne College: Is it worth it?

I got chance in a lot of different colleges under CU, State University, and Kalyani University, but chose this one since this is a reputed one with no political influence. I got rejected from Presidency University since I was not able to make the cut-off there, but LBC was my second choice, so I am kind of okay with it.
