Student's Review On Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Institute Of Technology - [SVIT] Vasad, Anand

This college is under Gujarat Technological University. It is one of the best college in GTU in the field of academics and placements. It is ranked 6th by GTU. It is 45 mins from Vadodara city. The college provides bus facilities at 8600/- per semester. The computer / IT placements are very impressive. The college management is very supportive. Academics is very focused im this college.

Courses are prescribed by Gujarat Technological University. The college has focused on academics enhancing the theory and practical knowledge of students. Digital classroom facilities are provided by the college. 1 industry trip is organised in the first year and in the subsequent years further trips are organised as per the requirement. The lesson plans are provided for each subject. There are compulsory 2 seminars to be delivered by the students each semester.

The placement are offered in last year. There are several practice group discussions and pre placement Interviews orgainised by training and placement cell of college. The companies coming for placements are mostly from Gujarat itself. Many placements are offered by TCS gandhinagar branch and larsen and turbo. Infosys is also actively hiring the students of our college. No strong alumni network. One student of computer branch secured placement in Google in 2015.

There are 4 fest in our college.The first is spandan to promote the co curricular activities such as singing, dancing, essay writing, sports and etc. The second in Vision in September month. It is inter department fest with technical and non technical events. The third one is Malhar our college annual day for prize distribution and cultural programs. The fourth is Prakarsh our college National technical fest. Students from different States come and participate here.

Wifi is very slow and works only on laptop/PCs. Computer Engineering labs are in good condition with ACs. Library is of 2 floors and has all the necessary books. College offers book bank facility at the cost of 40/- per book one semester.

There are no hostels.I stay at girls PG in Vasad. It cost me 4k per month for rentals and my roommates have taken gas connection and we cook by ourselves. There are several hotels located nearby but the quality of meals is not that appreciable.
