Course Curriculum Overview
I didn't know about the curriculum when I enrolled. I didn't want to do 11th-12th that's why I went with diploma after 10th. I had intrest in computering since childhood that's why I went with software development in D.voc. In college, It's BAD. They literally make us write code on our NOTEBOOK. That does not help except rote learning. That does not help one bit in irl world in jobs. Even in some subjects they give very long assignments which takes too much time to complete, that's the situation right now, my mid sem is from next Monday and i can either to studying or just completing assignments coz they are unnecessary long (sometimes). But the is KINDA good part, we have to go collect 3 days of the week, and other three days we have to go for OJT(On Job Training). They just pay a small tech company for us to be taught there, it's basically just like studying at college but here they teach more practical and real world useful things.Annoying travel 3days here n 3daysthere. As i said it's stupid to make us write code in notebooks, they does not help with logical understanding. What they should be doing is giving actual proper practicals, and teach problem solving skills which helps in real world. Also they should actually listen to our queries, aur ma'am who teaches us Java is always angry for some reason and kills the mood for learning anything even if I was passionate about it. And she has always ignored my queries when I have asked by saying I will tesch that later, that later never came. Yeah the exam timings aren't always great, for instance, from next week I have my mid sem d and just after that, in early April I have my ddcet exam which is much harder, now this collides with my schedule since they announce the mid sem exam's very late, just a week before the exam date, it's always like this and it's really annoying. Personally they aren't anything hard to crack, it's just mid sem nothing to worry about but others might have different perspective and opinions.
Internships Opportunities
We are diploma student, limited internship experience. Tho we are eager to learn and apply foundational knowledge. Strong theoretical understanding, seeking practical opportunities to develop skills. Ready to contribute and grow but yeah basically we can't do internship so can't give accurate information on that.
Placement Experience
Well we are not eligible for placements and I don't know about others. The college says studes have gotten jobs at companies like Google, MS, intel, AMD, Airbnb but not sure how true that is. Don't have info on what package students get on average or who's gotten the highest. Don't have info on percentage of students getting placements, but I ASSUME it's low and obviously students should apply for placements outside of campus anyways.
Fees and Financial Aid
Course duration : 3 years /6 semisters Yearly fee : ?25000, 12500/semister I do not remember the admission fee There are not any other additional fees to pay except exam registration fee: 250/260 Rs, fees for applying to get an id card: ?100. Also additional fees have to be for transformation services, for our course D.Voc, the fees are about 6k-7k per semister for Students of Vadodara. But I think those fees are higher for students of other departments and courses. I cannot say the transaction fees exactly since I don't use the services thus I don't know much.
Campus Life
We have an even called Prakharsh, where they host another event called VYOM, there students participate in tech games, like tech quize, solving bugs in code etc, and non tech games like mobile video game competition such as Valorant and treasure hunt. We can also win a trophy or some kind of gift. Also an annual day they call malhar, where to make ALL the students compulsory come to college just to die in extreme heat. They force is to sit in a pandal and won't let us go out even if we are dieing from heat of dehydration. I had to agure for like 15 minutes just to get permission to go to washroom and refill my water bottle. The entire day they do boring spesches which NOT A SINGLE SOUL there is paying attension to. Literally every single student there are frustrated over how bad the management is. I hadn't needed to look around in the library so I can't say anything about that Yeah.. they provide basic stuff like computers, which are thankful more than just "functional" so yeah they are actually usefull, there are other labs for physics stuff and chemistry stuff but idk about that. We have a sports room where we can play TT, chess, carrom, they also have gym equipment there. And if we want things like basketball, bat n ball for cricket, and stuff like that, we just have to ask the faculty siting there can we can take those to play in the grounds. They also host sports events just before prakhars.
Admission
Well at that time i didn't know anything about which colleges are good and which are not, same does for cources. Thus my father had applied to this college for me and ofc he didn't all the admission process so I don't know unfortunately.
Faculty
The "relationship" between students and faculty of course depends of student to student and faculty to faculty. I would say Rashmi sir, he is really friendly with all the students and even teaches very well. His always cool, cracks jokes and teachers in very fun ways. Although about the ones I don't like.. i can say every single faculty over the electrical department is a freaking devil from hell (I hope you are not gonna send all this to my college ????) i would rather fail my exam then even seeing the face of any faculty member over there, they are just UNBAREABLE, they don't listen to students, yelling at us for extremely small things, hell one teacher yelled so much at me just because I drank water from my own bottle without talking his permission. I NEED PERMISSION TO STAY HYDRATED?? Took away my friends' notes because you didn't attend his last you lectures and he said to my friend that his "BANNED" from his lectures. One faculty called us all in his cabin and charged ?100 fine for something we apprently break in their department, he saw us the cctv footage and there was nothing that we broke, we tried to discuss the matter with him with respect but you just wouldn't comprehend, he didn't listen a single word we said. It's not a personal grudge it's just a fact that everyone over there things they are something and wanna rule over students. We have to give 2 exams each semister, mid sem (international exam) and one semisters' final exam (external exam, coz it's held by GTU). We have to register for exams from our student poral, online, pay fees for registration and get a hall ticket. For external exam, the exams aren't any hard, most questions are repeated from last year's exam paper so it's easy to prepare since previous years exam papers are available online on GTU's website. And mid sem exam's questions are from the assignments we get.
Night Life
Generally we like to hangout over the main ground area, it's beautiful and very relaxing. Other than that people mostly go to reading room, we have 2 "reading rooms", a general reading room allowed for both boys and girls, and one girls room.. only for girl (duh). So reding rooms and other than that, canteen, that's mostly wher students hangout, and two shops just outside of the campus hate, they just sell snacks and Maggie n stuff. Mostly students go there to smoke. There is not a hostel yet, although we think there IS going to be one soon.. enough. But yeah till then, saying till night time is a no no.
