Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum in VGEC is mostly decided by GTU, so every college under GTU follows the same structure. The syllabus cover all important engineering basics like physics, maths, electronics and programming in first year, then later more core subjects are introduced. It is good for making strong foundation but sometimes it feels little outdated because industry tools and new technologies are not included fast. The curriculum is useful for higher studies as it cover theoretical base properly, but for real world application it require extra learning from outside sources. In First year you also need to learn Extra subjects which is never used in your branch and also in life .
Internships Opportunities
Our college provides internship opportunities mainly from the 3rd year onwards through both campus drives and faculty connections. Companies like TCS, Infosys, L&T, and small startups frequently offer roles such as software development intern, web developer, or data analyst with stipends ranging from ?5,000–?15,000 per month. Many projects focus on real-time problem solving like building applications, automation tools, or research-based assignments, which help students gain practical exposure and boost their placement readiness.
Placement Experience
Placements in VGEC start from 7th semester. Many reputed companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, and some core companies visit every year. The average package is around 4–5 LPA, while the highest goes up to 15–20 LPA depending on the branch. Around 60–70% students get placed, especially from IT and CSE branches. For other branches, internships and off-campus opportunities are also common. After completing my degree,
Fees and Financial Aid
I paid around INR 1500 per year Tuition fees. There is no paper work for Pay any fees there is College Website and from website we can pay all fees easily so it was not stressing. Students from TFWS seats they didn't have to pay any tuition fees. Otherwise all students have to pay fees. Yes , there are two scholarship is commonly available for students which is MYSY and Digital Gujarat scholarship . These Two are government based. And College also support all private scholarships. Student who have 80 or more persentile in boards exam then they are eligible for MYSY and they will get total Scholarship around 50,000 after 4 year. And for digital gujarat Scholarship , all students are eligible and they will get total Scholarship around 40,000.
Campus Life
Campus life in VGEC is a mix of academics, cultural events, and student clubs. The college organizes annual festivals like Adhyaaya (technical fest) and cultural programs in the month of February–March. These events give students a chance to showcase their skills and also interact with industry experts through workshops and competitions. The library is well maintained with a large number of textbooks, reference books, and journals. Students can easily access required material, though digital resources could still be improved. Classrooms are equipped with projectors and basic facilities, but sometimes infrastructure feels a little old compared to private colleges.
Admission
I applied to few government engineering colleges in Gujarat through ACPC counselling. I got option in some private colleges also, but I decided to go with VGEC because it is a government institute and has better reputation. The main reason was also fees, in private colleges fees is too high but in VGEC it is affordable and value for money.
Faculty
The faculty to student ratio in VGEC is decent, mostly one teacher handle around 50 to 60 students in a class. Teachers are quite approachable, if we go to them after lecture they clear doubts in friendly way. Some of them are very supportive and also guide about career. I personally liked our physics sir because he explain with real life examples and make subject interesting, also our PPS faculty is very patient with beginners so students don’t feel pressure. There are some faculties also who just read slides and don’t go much in depth, so it feel little boring sometimes. But overall most of them are good and helpful.
Night Life
Nightlife inside the VGEC campus is limited because most facilities like the library, gym, and cafeteria close by evening. The campus itself also shuts down early, so students do not have late-night activities within the college area. Hostel timings are strict, usually around 9–9:30 pm, which restricts staying out late. However, students often gather in common rooms or spend time chatting with friends before heading in for the night. Outside the campus, popular hangout spots include tea stalls, local canteens, and food outlets around Chandkheda and Motera. The locality is considered safe, making it enjoyable to go for short evening walks or group outings after classes
