Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course curriculum is decent and mostly aligned with other IT colleges. The core IT subjects were actually one of the reasons i choose this branch, beacuse they cover the basics that every IT student should know.If you put in efforts on your own ,the curriculum is enough to get started with real word work. BUt there is there is still scope for improvemnet. Some parts of syllabus feels outdated and noy connected to what compnies expect from todays studentss.Adding more practicle-based subjects ,project work make the course much better. Also theaching could be more hans on instead of theory. Exams are held as mid sems, finals and few class tests.the difficulty level is never fixed sometimes the paper comes very easy sometimes it is very hard so it mostly depends on the teacher and subject. The exam frequncies is manageable, but the curriculum whould be stonger if there were more practical assignments instead of only theort examss.

Placement Experience

3

studemts become eligible for campus placements from the 7th semester. The placement acitivity keeps happening throghout the final year.companies like TCS,Tata LTIindtree, wipro and few local startup like tcs and ltimindtree and the avg pakage stays on the lower sidw compared to big private colleges,The opporrinties are there ,but not as many as we expect. the percnatage of stundents getting placed depends a lot on the batch ,but it's definitely not 100%. A good number of students get interships or jobs their own efforts also, beacuse some companies dont visit every year.if a student if genuinely working on skills and projects, they can manage to get something , but the college placements alone might not be enough for evryone. after completing my degree, l plan to work on my technical skills and try for better opportunities throgh of campus options as well.i don't want to depend only on the on capus placements.my goal is to build a good portfolio so i can apply to bigger companies later.

Fees and Financial Aid

Each semester the tuition fess is 850 rupees and the exam fees is 300 rupees. There are no extra charges like registration fee, admition feecaution deposite, lab fee or anything like this.thr fee is same for evryone in my batch,no matter which category you are from.it also hasn't increased so far. I get the NSP scholership(50,000) per year and the food-bill scholership(15,000) per year.apart from this i don't know any other scholership that students usually take here.

Campus Life

4

campus life here is mostly simple and focued on studies.there are annual and technical festivals but thet are not very big compared to other colleges.the events do heppen ,but they are limited and not very grand. the libray is actually one of the better parts of the college ;like infrastructure and all that is not to good but the avalibility og books is pretty good . it has a good range of books and journal ans students can access them easily whenever needed. the classroom facilities are average. most classrooms have the basic setup like projectors and boards, but nothing too morden.the infrastructure overall is oky but not something you will call advanced .we have one main sports event in a year, and few small actvities here and there,so sports options are a bit limite. one good thing about the campus is the number of student run clubs and groups, culturall and even small communities for specific interset.these clubs help a lot in meeting new people ,learning new things and getting involved in something outside academics. even thoug the festivals are;t huge, the clubs keep campus environment active in their own way

Admission

i applied to DDU along with VGEC. I did't get any rejections from anywhere,i just had to choose between the two.DDU is a private college so fees are higher and i also heard from the seniors that their attendance rulke are really strict.i fe;t i wholdn't get the feww time for the self learning. that is tha main reason i did not choose DDU.the time for exploring more skills mttered more to me that fancy college and vishwkarma govenment engeeniring college is a govenmnet college so the fees are less and i has more free time to learn new skills and to explore more things. the admision precess of VGES is simple via the ACPC. you jsut need to coode the coure you want and the college you want and then you will get the result according to merit.I has 2000 rank in ACPC merit so i got IT without any issue.there is no seprate interview pr exams for admission.Eligibility is the based one 12th board gujcet and jee merit.THe cutoff depends on the branch but for IT it is littele bit higher. Overall the admission exprience was simpke beacude the whole process is online and you just need to fill the data and keep track of the dtes.i chooes VGES mostly beacuse of the fees and attendance criteria.

Faculty

4

Overall the faculty of the IT department is supportive. The student-to-faculty ratiois really good.each teacher handles hardly one or two classes so they have enough time for dout solving. Most teachers are approachable and you can go after class without any issue. The teachers who teach us core IT subjects ar ethe ones i like the most beacuse they actually pushes us for hackathins, projects and skill building. They guide us properly when we ask,and that makes a diffrence.i don't have any specific name of theacher that i don;t like but sometimes thebehaviour is vey government-style.That's part gets a littele annoying. For exams we have mid sems, finals and few class tests evry sem.Nothing is fixed as easy or hard. it mostly depends on subjects. Usually 10-15 students out of 90 fail in some subject. The course structure is similer to other GTU colleges, and it is oke in terms of relevance. Some subjects help in real lerning and some feel outdated, but that's the case in most engineering college.

Night Life

4

i am not in the college hostel,so i dint exprience much of the campus nghtlife.from what i know the girls hostels entry time is 8.30 pm,and for boys there isn't any stict limit . the campus is huge so student can walk around in evening but there aren't any dedicated late night spots or hangoutareas inside the college. most facilities like the gym, library and cafeterias close by evening,so there is not muc activity heppenning after classes.students usually just go back to their hostel rooms and chill. the area around the college is safe and pepole can roam without any issue.there aren't really many late night our places nearby but our collegeb is in amdavad and amdavads night life is pretty good abd very safe for gils so there is many many places in amdavad for nighouts and all so you can enjoy the night lie as well but in campus there ae not much thing likeit is normal if you will find good roomates than you will have the best hosetl life possible so its depend on the people.

Other Applied Colleges

Dharmsinh Desai University - [DDU] | Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Information Technology)

It is good college but it is private college, and they follow attendance rules very strictly. Some of my seniors told me that in government colleges the attendance pressure is less, so i will get more free time to learn extra things by my self. That's why i

Course Curriculum Overview:

As we all know , college learning is not only about textbooks, and real world knowledge is equally important. in this area, the college supports student well by giving exposure to practical learning . the course includes industry related topics, and teachers also try to explain how concepts are used in real life. the curriculum is helpful, but adding more modern tools, software and hands on projects would make it even better. Overall, the syllabus prepares student for future jobs and higher studies, while still leaving some room for improvement.
