Student's Review On Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Institute Of Technology - [SVIT] Vasad, Anand

This is one of the top colleges under Gujarat technological university. It is very much famous all over Gujarat. College offers very good placements to their students. Admission process is done by ACPC, Ahmedabad. The college offers a wide range of branches in the field of engineering.

Course is pretty more focused to theory and not practicals but the college follows the curriculum as prescribed under GTU. The course was last modified 2 years back. Industrial exposure is not required in computer departments and in core branched like mechanical, enough industrial exposure is provided. Industrial trips are organised at free of cost along with the transport facility by the college itself. Many faculties are actively motivating the students to take part in various hackathons and they guide them throughout. Especially the first year faculties are very much friendly and supportive.

Many companies visit our college every year. The students secure the placements before passing out the final year exams. Around 50 companies visit computer department since past few years. TCS takes away most of the students with average salary of 3-3.5 lacs according the the coding skills of the student. Infosys, Larsen&Turbo and Mindtree also visit our college every year. The alumni network is not as strong as other colleges but few alums are in contact with their faculties. I don't know any famous startups if any.

spandan is one of the program by our college to promote the extracurricular activities of the students like singing, dancing, art, essay writing, sports and many other activities this is what I found very much attractive about this college. Other fests include Malhar( Annual Day), Prakarsh( National Tech Fest), Vision(Inter Departmental fest). The campus starts at 9:45am and closes by 4:30pm. There is a 40 min break for lunch in between. Events are very much engaging and enjoyable.

Library is of 2 floors and is pretty sufficient to accomodate the needs of around 4000 students. Wifi facility is provided but you can connect to it only with PC/Laptops and no smartphones. Additionally, the network strength is very low. Computer labs are very well equipped and have ACs but other labs like mechanical have old equipments. Sports is very much encouraged in our college. Many students are actively indulged into sports. College infastructure is good and spreads over more than 20 acres in the natural beauty of Vasad city.
