Remarks

I did my masters in computer science from the same department. During my masters I got inclined towards algorithms and one of my professors guided me and inspired me to pursue PhD. Currently, I am doing PhD under her. The group here is small, so one can directly interact with professors. The professors are really good and helpful. You learn a lot. One of the best places in Delhi for students who love Computer Science.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

I think the syllabus is updated and up to the mark, professors are quite good and experts in their respective fields. In terms of practical knowledge and infrastructure- like machines, servers- I think we should do better, being computer science department. Prof. Neelima gupta is the chair person right now, I ma working under her. I think she is doing wonderful job and we will see department doing better in coming 1 or 2 year.

Internships Opportunities

Not yet. Doing full time PhD. Getting UGC scholarship under JRF category.

Placement Experience

4

After masters, there are some quite good companies like amazon, oyo, ebix, axtria, paytm, nagarro, and a lot others for hiring for software engineer and data analysts profiles. And after PhD, you can apply for assistant professor or adhoc in any of the good institute. Getting a lecturer job at university of Delhi after PhD from here is a great and an easy to get job.

College Events

4.5

Life is pretty good here. We conduct 4-5 events yearly for students interaction with both the seniors and the alumni. And these events vary, like technical events- Annual festival and hackathons to non tenchnical events like- skits, diwali party, fresher's, farewell, holi party, DJ nights. Recently we went on a trek also. Overall, life is happening here and the environment is good for overall personality development of an individual.

Fees and Financial Aid

Recently they have included delhi university in PMRF institutes. It is research fellowship for research scholars, ealier only IITs, TIFR and IISc were there in the list. So one can apply for this. It is a really good opportunity and what they provide as fellowship and contingency is really fascinating.

Campus Life

3.5

The group is small and hence the department. We have good labs with latest technologies. Though no personal library of the department right now and wi-fi is also not really very good. I feel we somewhere lack in infrastructure and we should have better facilities for student

Hostel Facilities

4

Hostels are not specific to department and they are university hostels. I have visited DU hostels, they are moderately good. And there are different hostels and you are allotted on the basis of your marks. You can get single room, food is also okay. Don't really know much about hostels, but they are moderately good and depends on your marks in the previous degree. For delhites, it is comparatively difficult to get a hostel room but for outsiders, if you have good marks, you can easily get one. Don't know the exact fees but its not too high and is affordable.

Ph.D. students didn't have that many job placement opportunities on campus. Usually, students have to apply for a postdoc for further studies. Otherwise, they apply here or there for other job options. Or students generally go for Assistant professor applications in different colleges.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The courses were informative. The usual faculty: student ratio varies from subject to subject and ranged from 1:10 to 1:50. The professors were well versed with there subjects. The exams were based on the discussions held in classes. The exams were held in time and were easy to pass. If you attended the classes.

For B.Tech and M.Tech there are plenty amount of options they have. They can choose packages from 12 LPA to crores even. As I'm doing Ph.D. from IIT what I can say is Post - a doctoral research career is good to go if we are opting to be lecturers. Otherwise, industries are also preferred by Chemists who synthesize compounds.

I decided to pursue a PhD in Physics. IIT-Delhi is rich in imparting knowledge and offers a wide infrastructural advantage. At IIT-Delhi clearing NET examination is mandatory after which interviews are conducted twice in a year (in May for July session and in Nov-Dec for January session). After the interview the shortlisted candidates are allowed to interact with their choice of supervisors and with the mutual consent of student and supervisor, one can join the Ph. D. course
