Exhilarating College life

Although there are distractions such as smoking and drinking in all colleges but it all depends on the student himself and the choices one makes.

A rank 20, 000 in IIT but couldn't get computer related fields so chose manipal over the rest of the colleges as it is located in a clam and serene surroundings with successful alumni to back the universities success.

I have the opportunity to take courses not only limited to my branch but also to business management and on entrepreneurial skills.I took an elective in MATLAB which widened my horizon in problem solving.

We have a club called IAESTE which offers paid internships abroad with lodgings and stay managed by the host countries. There is also provision of a Google summer of code wherein students participate in a completion and then sit for an interview wherein successful candidates are picked for internships.Tie up with many MNC's in Bangalore also provides experience along with oppurtuinities to us students over summer.There are also hackathons conducted by Microsoft for creating applications and the best applications are taken up under Microsoft and promoted and worked upon then launched to the play store.Many students also go for internships by applying under the umbrella of the internship wing of the college.

Around 39 of Fortune 500 companies came for placements this semester and students were offered huge packages.The trend of computer related stream students getting high end jobs continued this year with an increase in job offers in other streams as well.A friend of mine went to Goldman Sachs IT department.

We have a festival each INA semester.For the odd sem we have a festival called the Tech Fest which showcases the latest in technology and innovation by manipal students and is attended by a lot of students from IIT's and Bits and others.There a re workshops held for the student such as arduino then rc planes and magnetic air gun which helps to provide students with an educational edge.There is robowars at international scale with prizes worth lakhs given away.In even sem we have a fest called Revels which is a cultural fest with dance groups and music groups from different universities competing against each other.Last year Farhan Akhtar visited for the fest.

The fee structure is similar to as that of any other private college.Inclusive of lodging, food, and educational facilities the fee comes down to 16lakhs for four years for a BTech course.

For students under merit and having a rank below 1000 in the entrance exams an scholarship on fee is given and even for low income families scholarships on tuition fee are given.A new provision for providing scholarships to students with high cgpa's from 2016 onwards too.

We have various clubs that provide us with opportunities.There is computer science club which organises hackathons and workshops on basic coding skills then there is a robotics club that uses microcontrollers to create devices for day to day problem solving. Plus student teams which are creating different designs and working models Formula Manipal a student racing team which competes on global scale, Solar Mobil a two seated and four seater solar car for the society, Parikshit student satellite program, Project Manas a self driving autonomous vehicle being designed by the students in a one of a kind initiative with mahindra.Student exchange programs with universities abroad with a great cultural diversity and unity and harmony between gender.An equal platform for everyone.

The hostels are state of the art with provision of single occupancy, double occupancy, triple occupancy with an living space and both ac and non ac rooms.There are huge 11 floored buildings housing students with loads of lodging space and long lasting memories with friends and roommates.

An interactive alumni network which provides opportunities for us to express our ideas and also a platform for funding ideas.Provision of clubs that provide exposure such as parikshit a student team which will be launching a student satellite in collaboration with ISRO.

There are regular assignments given which are evaluated by surprise quizzes held in class.There are two sessional papers followed by an end semester examination with a regular home work questions input from the teachers The time table is managed perfectly providing with platform for extracurricular activities too.Regular assessment on a weekly basis in CHEM, physics, computer science labs with evaluation on civil, electrical and automobile workshops and graphic designing classes on a weekly basis.

A great faculty with a lot of experience and always ready to go out of their way to help you achieve your goals and targets.The teachers not only teach what is there in the curriculum but also provide us insights into the latest stuff about pur respected streams and help us broaden our horizon and chose our field of interest.
