Remarks
As it goes for every candidate right after giving any entrance exam is that he/she wants to get enrolled into the topmost institutes available. When it was my turn I looked for an autonomous college because I personally think that autonomy brings independent decisions to the administration and also for the students which helps in the long term. JSPM's RSCOE is a very new college on the list yet it proved its strength. The college is established not very long back but dates somewhere in the year 2001. The reason I chose this college over others is that it was the first college in the region to bring out the CSBS pattern where the students and the faculty can actually lookup for their own subjects backed up by the framework of TCS.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is framed by TCS which is an industry-based curriculum. The best part is that there is a track record of everything that we do as a part of academics and co-curricular activities. Also, we are a bit ahead of the traditional curriculum which is followed in other colleges, may it be with respect to the programming languages or the subjects for that matter. It is notable that right from the second semester itself we had project-based learning(PBL) as a crucial subject in the curriculum. We are always made to work in an interdisciplinary format where we are encouraged to work out of our domain. Speaking about the faculty, all the faculty members are up to the level for teaching the subject prescribed. The faculty comprises of senior faculty with 20 years of experience to many new faculty with a year or two of experience. The best part is that the faculty is made to learn new things and are made to enrol on courses available.
Placement Experience
The college aims to 100% placements with an average package of over 3.5lacs/annum. The students are eligible for the placement by third-year second semester and so on. The highest packages range from 18-24 lacs/annum for a fresher. The training and placement cell is proactive and has worked towards bringing good placement opportunities for the students. Last year packages ranging from 18-24 lacs were offered by Japanese companies and by many other companies.
Fees and Financial Aid
Being a private college the fee can go as high as Rs.1,15,000 if you are selected on a merit basis and up to Rs.8,00,000 if you enrol through the management quota. The fees differ for each and every candidate according to his/her category. Though there are many scholarships available, by the government. The placement is great with over 18-24 lacs package offered by Japanese companies the last year and the average package ranges to over 3.5 lacs/annum. The training and placement cell is working really hard to bring great offers for the students and has proved it.
Campus Life
Well, the college infrastructure is ok with regards to the academics with fully resourced and certified labs. But the overall college infrastructure is a little dull when it comes to its construction. The college seems to be compacted with its buildings making it look like a queue of buildings. The classrooms are well furnished with smart boards in many of them. A notable point is that there is a lecture capture facility which helps the students to get with their lost lectures if they are absent. There is a central library comprising of many books and journals with department libraries facilitated with the books related to the course. Above all, there are many clubs, technical and non-technical formed by the students for the students. There is a tech-fest named "Innovision" with many competitions and prizes. Also, the college has its own college website Moodle with the course details and the assignments and announcements.
