Remarks

College was renowned for its discipline w.r.t it's the education system. Experienced Faculty (Teachers in my college were having more than 12-14 years of experience in their domain). Previous 5 years placements in RSCOE was quiet good, therefore it made it more reliable to take admission there. The reason that I preferred this college over others was I was getting the branch I was interested in and other was this college had already won Best college in the University of Pune. The admission process for me was quite straight forward, since, I was coming from a different state so I got admission as an OMS (Out of Maharashtra state student) student and because my JEE mains score qualified the admission criteria along with my ISC board exam scores. Therefore, I had to just submit my documents which were required.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

I chose to pursue Information technology for I always had a huge nag to pursue it since I was in class ten I and I had developed a lot of interest in computer programming. Teacher-student ration is like almost 1:12, i.e. 1 teacher per 12 students which increases to 1:15 in second year onwards due to DSE (Direct Second Year students who come from diploma background). Faculties in our college are mostly PhD holders or are pursuing a PhD in their respective domains. Term exams were extremely punctual and disciplined.

Internships Opportunities

4

TCS and some foreign internships have been given as an opportunity for internships from college to every student and many have capitalised on this as well.

Placement Experience

4

From 7th semester students become eligible for campus placements. A lot of companies visited for campus placements, won't be able to name them all but some of them were TCS, INFOSYS, WIPRO, Continental AG, miniOrange, Capgemini, GE, etc. Highest package for 2019 batch was 7 LPA from TCS Digital. Almost all students of CS, IT branch got placed along with a good number of students from other branches also got placed. My plan was to work in the company I got placed.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fee structure of our college was like this: Open Category: Complete Fees (1,19,260/-). OBC: (They had to pay the fees but they used to get a scholarship of something around 50 thousand or more than that as reimbursed fees in the form of EBC criteria). SC/ST: 5000/- (Not sure about this, this is something I heard from one of my friends in the first year). TFWS: These are the Maharashtrian state students who had performed well in their board exams and they had to pay a sum of 10,000 as fees to the college. All the above information is as per my remembrance, therefore, if I am wrong on anything please pardon.

Campus Life

4.5

As far as the campus life was concerned we had a lot of extracurricular and co-curricular activities in our college, annual tech fest was Innovision which used to take place in the month of January and Gandharva, which was an extracurricular activity fest in which we had so many fun performances and stuff like Singing, Dancing, drama, skit, etc. We also had a dramatic society of our college "Rang Bhoomi" wherefrom very good talents have come. Along with this, there was a robotics club, A Coding club in the IT department (AndroIT) which I am still heading as an alumni head of the club. There were two canteens along with a snack corner, juice corner, a soda corner in our campus which we all enjoyed and have created some really good memories there also.

Hostel Facilities

4

I had opted college hostel for the first year only, it had all facilities such as Water cooler, the cot in the room, Personal cupboard in the room everyday room and toilet cleaning was there in the college hostel. There is an Ambulance also which is used in case of any emergency if the student has fallen really sick or something so that he or she can be helped to go to the hospital easily. For college hostel one needs to apply as early as possible or else they might not get one. Mess was not included in a hostel in 2015.

If one wants direct placements in comapnies such as Wipro, Cognizant, Hexaware, TCS and many more, SIT is the place. Highest is still unbeatable as one student in 2023 got a paycheck of 50 lakhs per annum from SIT. Even the average is over 10 lakhs now as most students are placed through SIT placements cell.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum is also good and it is explained in detail on the college's website and there are labs for the courses which made learning fast and easy. Relevance(industry alignment)->8/10 The curriculum is designed to keep up with the industry needs especially in fast growing fields like computer science, management, design and pharmacy. Updated course such as AI, machine learning, cybersecurity, data science and 3D printing are included for tech students. Industry exposure depends on the students initiative it's not equally strong in every department. Comprehensiveness-> 7.5/10 First year courses focus on building strong basics in science, mathematics and communication skills. Later semesters introduce specialisation, electives, research projectsand soft skill training. The curriculum also includes personality development, entrepreneurship and innovation modules. A few departments could integrate new technologies fatser into the syllabus. Practical v/s theoretical balance: Labs, workshops and real world projects are a core part of the structure, especially in engineering, design, and science programs. CIA like case studies, presentations, and assignments encourage hands on learning. However, in some programs, there is a still heavier focus on the theory, so students must actively seek extra learning resources
