Good, this is one of the best colleges in eastern India for medicine.

Course Curriculum Overview

MD medicine course is of 3years. A Master degree in medical science is more of duties than studies. The same is applicable here as well. But there are regular academic activities and monthly exams as well unlike other colleges. During 1st year one would get very little time for self-study but later on, it is okay. The environment is very friendly.

Class Size: 200Course Fees: INR 10000 per year

Placement Experience

You don't need placement as a doctor. You can build your own clinic with experience. After MD you might be doing DM for better opportunities.

College Events

Cultural fest- Crux arranged every year by Undergraduate students. Usually 3-4 days event organized in " Uttirno" 1km away from campus. Academic fest- Arranged yearly, Seminars, Pujas like Saraswati Puja- all the students come wearing new dress and it is of great fun.

Fee Structure And Facilities

10k annual. Payment mode only cash. one can pay entire amount at last semester as well. Hostel fees are nominal. Only rs 12 per month as far as I know.

Campus Life

Very nice campus. Large enough to roam around. A small football ground is there in front of ug hostel. Boys are more I think than Girls. There are some football tournaments arranged annually. Apart from that no significant sporting event is organised over here.

Alumni/Alumna

Seniors are helpful and quite friendly. Environment is quite friendly. You will feel home here if you coming from outside even.

Admission

The college is prestigious one in west bengal. I got admission through NEET PG counseling.

I would say average. There are some good faculties whereas some are not. But in medicine it totally depends upon you. You have to strengthen your knowledge and skills yourself along with help of seniors. You may be lucky if u get a good faculty in your unit. But your are not unlucky if you don't get one.

Admission:

The admission process was quite simple. After completing my MBBS from GMCH Chandigarh, I applied for the MD in this college. They check all the qualifications and documents they I got a call for the interview round. It went for about 1 hour and many questions were being asked especially from the specific field which I want to pursue.

Admission:

I had written NEET exam which is the general entrance exams, after the results were declared and ranks allotted, I had checked the cutoff marks for various colleges. My rank was below 20,000 so during counselling I was asked for my preferred colleges and I had named a couple. Out of them I got into CSTM and got my allotment order. I had submitted my documents and paid the fees. After which I submitted the allotment order to the college.

Remarks:

The college holds and excellent research facility in various fields of tropical medicine and diseases. They have completed projects on dengue, malaria and several ongoing researches that helps the students tremendously with new knowledge and its application in curing diseases.

In my point of view North Bengal Medical College is a average 7 out of 10 rating college. Here I like a things that the Senior and Doctor behaviour is great and very polite. And we get good quality teaching experience.
