Remarks

I liked my life here. You will too. Manipal is very hot. That's the only negative factor.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

I got placed in TCS as a statistical programmer through campus placements. They teach a lot of relevant courses. Although it can't be considered to be the best applied mathematics course, it got me where I am today. So no complaints. There was no industrial visits during the course, but we will be asked to complete a research project. I did mine of applied cryptography, which was very informative.

Placement Experience

4

25% of my classmates got placed by the end of the third semester. Companies do come for placements. But the college approaches more companies depending on the interests of students. What I mean is if they don't think the students want more companies to come, then they won't do much.

College Events

5

Being an engineering college, there are many many events happening in the college both in odd semesters and even semesters. So college life is never boring. Also there are lots of clubs to join around campus, which also adds to the flavor of being a student. At MIT you won't have to worry about shortage of college events.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Compared to the peers of my age, the college fees was feasible. It's not the cheapest college but it is manageable. You can also avail scholarships based on your merit. I did a masters course so I had to pay my fees annually and not semester wise. Based on my course I feel it was reasonable.

Fees and Financial Aid

I didn't apply for scholarships or loans. The fees was reasonable for my course and I was not eligible for scholarships.

Campus Life

5

I loved the two years that I spent at this campus. I believe the gender ratios were equal. There are many student clubs on campus which adds to the flavor of being a student. You can see cultural diversities in all aspects. People are very respectful of each other's individuality in this place which is amazing. I believe you can have a quality conversation on any subject with your peers here.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

I couldn't get a hostel because they ran out of vacancies. So incase you are planning to apply here make sure you understand this situation. Enquire about hostel vacancies. One of the best parts about student life is staying in hostels. Unfortunately I couldn't experience that.

Alumni/Alumna

Seniors are very helpful. They help us understand the huge campus and also helps us deal with the course. They teach us new softwares that might be required for certain courses. I had a good relationship with my seniors and also my juniors. So I can say that seniors are very good here.

Admission

I applied for the course towards the end of March. I applied with all my marks card, and had the option to upload the remainder of my marks cards as and when I got them. I got my acceptance letter in June and they gave me a date to come to college to complete the joining process. Classes started by August.

Faculty

4

We had faculties ranging from ages 25+ to 55+. Facilities have PhD or are pursuing PhD. Most of the faculty are very educated and good at what they do. One more thing of importance to notice is that they always keep themselves up to date about the new innovations in their area of expertise and try to share what they know with the students.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Food and nutrition articles in newspaper made me to take this course. As it had full scope in that time. Actually curriculum is very poor in preparing us for real world application. Practical session must include more of industrial visits and projects related to industry. We had enough time to study .

Hence this university is reputed one in Karnataka.. i choose this one and I got the seat and I am very happy for this. The teaching methods are really good but it depends on particular lecturers, how they teach .. For main sem exam the time was around 3 hours for 70 marks and it was moderate and can be manageable

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is fairly distributed among the 2 years. The first year broadly covers the course work, and learning of the laboratory techniques. Followed by a mini project and a major project under a professor of interest. Stem cell biology always intrigued me and this course offered exactly what I want. The curriculum focuses on training students very rigorously to make them fit for harsh conditions and situations in the real research world.
