Remarks

The college is a great one for students pursuing different degrees.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

Semester based curriculum. Exams are also conducted every semester. I would call this course research oriented since placement scenario is not good and hence most student prefer further studies. Recently efforts are being made to inculcate the industry skills but still students prefer higher studies in general.

Placement Experience

2.5

Placement scenario is not very good, some top branches have on campus placements which are not too high, most student who want a good job try to go for off campus placements for the big companies.

College Events

3.5

There are cultural fests and events organised by each department and hence there are fests going on all throughout the year. In general the fests are limited to the students in the city but students from other places are always welcome. Freshers are arranged for each incoming batch of students.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The total fees for the course is around 30, 000 rupees which is much less than any other colleges in the country. This is because it is a state sponsored college and is better than almost all private colleges which charge more than 10 times the fees here.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions

Since the fees here are very nominal there is no scholarship. Although students can directly approach the government or banks for loans.

Campus Life

3.5

Academics is the main focus, the campus is not that large hence lacks proper outdoor sports facilities. Gym and indoor sports facilities with large auditoriums are there. Since the institution is mostly for masters and phd students there are great modern labs and equipments. But in general they are not available to the btech students. Although special permissions can be taken.

Alumni/Alumna

The student alumni network is large but since most pursue higher studies, help is readily available in regards to academics. The alumni support is not that great in the industry.

Admission

In the month of june admission takes place admission is done through wbjee, there is also an admission process in which bsc students from other colleges get in the btech program from the second year that is the third semester. This was the prevalent way of admission untill 4 years back when the first batch through wbjee took admission.

Faculty

4

Renowned professors who have good collaboration and connection with various universities in India as well as abroad. Since most professors are actively involved with their research fellows bachelors course are at times a little neglected but thats understandable due to high workload in the research areas.

Placement Experience:

The placement record of college is very excellent and most of the students get placed on campus. The placement get started from 2nd year only and the company's start visiting the campus for recruitment. The company's like chevron, fleet management, Pacific basin visit and average package provided is about 70000-80000 per month. 90 to 95% of cadets get placed but those who didn't take placement get placement easily outside the college.
