Remarks

Rules are quite strict and no one's allowed to go outside but it's for our own good. It's a different career.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

Yes it's relevant. All we have been taught inside the campus is that how should we become a good quality officer and how to contro our vessel on board. My academy is the best academy in India and everyone knows that. Be it about placement, education, mentors or infrastructure.

Placement Experience

5

My academy is owned by a shipping company AESM. So the placement is 100% provided you clear your exams.

College Events

1

Salutemari. This is an event that is celebrated in our academy. Since it's a training centre so rules there are quite strict and we don't have a lot of events and festivals like other colleges. We have a small festival Salutemari celebrated among other merchant academy in Mumbai.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Yes they provide transparency for fees. Cadets have to pay 7. 5 lacs for the Diploma in Nautical Science course which is a one year program. There's no scholarship for anyone. All of us have to pay same fees for that course after clearing our entrance test.

Fees and Financial Aid

College provided bank details along with the fees structure. So it's easy for someone to get education loan from that bank.

Campus Life

5

Since it's underrated course so hardly females join merchant navy. Students come from every corner of India but sex ratio is not so good. I'm our batch we had only boys. In our junior batch of 160 cadets, only 8 were female cadets. Although there are no such rules like girls are not allowed. Everyone's treated equally inside the academy and it's safe for everyone.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

Yes. It's a residential course so you have to live inside the campus. You don't have any other option. Rooms are quite better and hostel fees is included in total fees itself so we don't have to pay anything accept the annual fee. It includes our meals, uniform, residence, laundry etc.

Alumni/Alumna

Yes everyone is helpful. Seniors taught us how to survive out at sea and made us tough. We are proud of them.

Admission

Through internet I found about this academy and then I had to clear written, interview and medical. First sminhad to clear it's written paper the. I was shortlisted for psychometric test. After clearing it, I was called for interview and after that I was sent for medicals. After clearing medicals I had to clear another paper called IMU and ranked among top 30% students.

Faculty

4.5

Enough lecturer whom we call 'Captain' cause they're retired masters having a lot experience out at sea. Around 20 lecturers for 400 cadets. so it's more than enough. We have a number of courses for both engine side and deck side of a ship. So it includes a lot of subject knowledge. They provide us enough.
