Excellent facilities and staff

The college is well managed and is a good place to start your career at sea. It is company owned and guarantees placement if selected.

IMU CET. To apply, you must first apply into the company for cadetship and get sponsored. I chose this company as they were well reputed and finished my cadetship with them.

The course curriculum was well covered. The teachers were helpful. A lot of what we were taught helped us in our second mates exams as well. We are taught both theoretical and practical topics necessary for our career at sea.

Apart from the company's own fleet, several other companies come for recruitment as well. We are guaranteed placement onboard for our cadetship and are placed on our fleet which has 30+ ships presently.

All of my batchmates were placed. About 15 were selected by external companies and the rest of us were placed on our own companies ship.

While at the college we enjoyed a culture fest and holi celebrations. Apart from that, movies are aired weekly and swimming and parade periods are weekly as well.

Fee structure can be inquired about in the college's website. The school provides a student loan through UCO bank for all students that wish to avail of it.

Loans are available through UCO bank. Other than that, 2 students from every batch are awarded a scholarship of 1 lakh

Campus life is good. The facilities are excellent. There is a well equipped gym, a library, a football field, table tennis room and movies are aired in the auditorium once a week

The hostel facilities were excellent. 3 boys to one room. The food quality is good as well and there is a canteen on campus as well.

There has been an alumni network set up. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to use it yet. However, since most of us sail together afterwards and even give exams together, I have stayed in touch with almost all of my batchmates.

Imu holds their exams every 6 months and there is a midsem exam in between. As there are only two semesters in the pre sea course, we had only 4 examinations.

Faculty are all well experienced and knowledgeable. They are helpful and guide students that are not familiar with the profession well. In addition, the instructors are all well experienced as well.
