Remarks

There is no bad remarks for my college. It is a very good college with effective management who takes right decision at right time for success and development of the college. The management representatives are very co-operative and for them the infrastructure of the college and hostels had improved progressively every year. The library have most of the books required for the college syllabus which is also for the good management.

JAT_Joint Admission TestI score 81 % in the admission test.Since it is Govt. Engineering College with good past records, I opt for this particular college.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

Full time engineering course. It includes physics, chemistry, mathematics, english in the first year with various labs.Mechanical engineering subjects like Strength of materials, mechanics of materials, fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, machine drawing, engineering drawing, production technology etc. with economics & accountancy and C, C++ was in the curriculum from 2nd to 4th year. The course also includes various types of workshops in 3rd and 4th year.A project of Design and development of Windmill for water pumping was done by me in the final year.

Internships Opportunities

The internship experience was excellent and very useful. It even helps me currently in my present job life. The design in auto-cad learnt with functions of different machines is helping much in my professional career. No stipend was paid during that period.

Placement Experience

4

Placement and job opportunities are average. It changes from year to year and depends on the capability and activeness of the "Training and Placement Cell" in the college. Various Govt. PSU's (like ONGC, NRL etc.) had also conducted campus interview's in our college during my tenure. Also, software giants like TCS, Infosys, Cognizant, Tata Technologies etc had conducted campus interviews and recruited many students.

College Events

4

1. Freshers Welcome function.2. Final Year parting 3. New year celebration.4. Farewell ceremony5. College Week function Normally college week and Freshers welcome ceremony was organized in big manner and most of the students participate. Rests of the functions depends on the funds arranged.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee structure is very nominal as it is Govt. college.Exact figure was not remembered, but approximately Rs.10000 was spent for 1 year including admission and exam fees.

Fees and Financial Aid

Scholarships are very rarely offered and I had not witnessed any of them in my period. There is no loan facility available.

Campus Life

4.5

The campus life is full of joy and enthusiasm. The extra curricular activities includes inter hostel football and cricket tournament. Also, badminton, volley ball, tennis etc. are organised by the sports committee. The labs includes various design oriented courses. Debates, extempore speech, singing competition, rock shows, drama fest etc. are organised during the college week celebration and most of the students participated in it. The gender ration is 60% male and 40% female. Hostel parties are arranged in every weekend in between the board members in separate manners. The students are very open-minded and there is no conflict for any case of race, religion and politics.

Hostel Facilities

4

Hostel facilities are good and the mess food was average. The rooms alloted upto 3rd year was in twin sharing basis. The averahe rental paid is approximately Rs. 3000 a year and for fooding expenses Rs.800 per month.

Alumni/Alumna

Experience with the college seniors was fantastic and response from them is very positive always. The alumni meet is organised by the present welfare committee periodically. Most of the past students who are in the nearby radius never miss the alumni meet. Even, the alumni those are at abroad try and attend the function on few occasions. The seniors and alumni who are presently the apex level officers in various organizations always forwarded a helping hand in the way of donations etc. for development of the college and even for various cultural activities to be organized. My experience withe seniors is very exciting as often i met some one of them always treat me as a younger brother and closest friend rather than a college junior. We have parties outside and also inside the campus/hostels we ever we met and get and opportunity for that.

Exam Structure

Exam structure was tough. Exams and labs were conducted at every six months, i.e. after end of a semester.

Faculty

5

They are great mentors with full of technical knowledge. Every faculty was a master in their own discipline. The way of explanation was extremely good which makes a tough subject much easier to understand. Above all, they are very co-operative and helpful to the students in each and every steps.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not really good in our college, it is more of a research institute so it mainly focuses on PhD as PhD strength is good. Higher education is more prefered here but placement scenario is also good

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is very relevant and is different for different branches according to their needs. I was interested in civil engineering and chose the course and find the curriculum intersting and relevant for me . The curriculum offers subject which are important for real world applications, like in civil engineering it's offers subjects like building construction, solid mechanics, fluid mechanics, material testing, serving, etc. The course curriculum is very good but the teaching methods needs improvement like more digitalization . The exams frequency and timings are neither too late nor too early, they are perfectly planned and executed.

Course Curriculum Overview:

There exists a good teaching staff that's why the course is very easy to understand also teachers give us good examples also do practicals so that's students understand the course easily . I see that there exist a low no of equipments in practical lab compare to it's students ratio so if they have a good no of equipments then all students get equipment to do experiment without any waste of time . Time is good as compare to marks and the first 30 marks are beginner level the other 40 marks are intermediate level and the remaining 30 Marks are advanced level questions in a question paper for the students they published.

Placement Experience:

The placement scenario is quite good, with several reputed companies like General Electric, Power Grid Corporation of India, Goldman Sachs, among others recruiting 94 percent of the students in the college. The placement takes place in three rounds, one testing one's aptitude, followed by an hour round, finally leading on to a technical round. Mock interview and job cracking sessions are organized regularly, both by the departments, and also the Training and Placement Cell, to prepare students for the interviews and examinations going forward. The Training and Placement Cell also provides internship opportunities at the end of third year for the students, based on their aptitude and abilities

Remarks:

I have mostly positive remarks about college except for the fact that the college is situated really far from mainstream north India. Train connectivity is not that strong to rest of country. But despite that the college is extremely good in the sense of learning, meeting new innovative minds, and of course placements and jobs.
