Remarks

Very well managed college with great faculty and staff.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

As per the learning is concerned, it follows strict guidance under AICTE. Any changes in the AICTE curriculum will lead to change in our college too. And talking about knowledge, they try to shower as far as they can, its also about the students how they grab each and every opportunity provided to them. Yes, students are taken for industrial visits and also relative seminars are also held by various resource person. Our college also organizes an Internship programme for the interested students in lieu of various burning courses that helps in industrial level.

Placement Experience

4

For my course companies visited are : TCS, Wipro, Infosys, HCL, IBM, Microsoft etc. its either by on campus or off campus. They also provide quite a number of unfo for all related jobs available. Placement Drive generally notify students with all the possible interviews and list of companies and send them emails and let them fill up google forms regarding their participation. According to the companies norms students are selected.

College Events

3.5

There are two main fest of college, one is the techfest namely, Prajyukttam which is held during the odd semesters every year and cultural fest namely D'Verbe during the even semesters every year. They are quite a fun fests where few compitions also include students from other colleges. The winners are awarded with price money and certificates in yhe techfest and medal/trofies and certificates during the cultural fest.

Fee Structure And Facilities

My B. Tech fee structure is: 58000 tuition fees and admission fee as 10000/- and caution deposit as 10000/- and an annual fees of 15000/- to be given four times in the course of 4 years. They accept online payment, Demand draft, multicity cheque (for the students living in Guwahati only). Yes, one can avail discount by paying in one time of Rs. 4, 60, 000/- or by paying two installments of Rs. 2, 45, 000/- each.

Fees and Financial Aid

Yes, college provides scholarship in accordance to merit list and family gross income. There are also reward money for the toppers of each class for every semester. So, there the forms available for opting scholarship and process is quite fast and efficient.

Campus Life

5

Gender ratio as M:F as 60:40. The life is quite under control here so as to maintain the decoram. We are allowed to enjoy but with proper gestures and keeping ourselves within a line. Here all diversity, culture, languange are welcomed whole heartedly. There are no political barriers as the leaders are chosen in a very peaceful manner. There are also scholarships for students who have difficulty in paying the fees due to any economic instabilities.

Hostel Facilities

4

I live in PG which is just opposite to my college. So my PG charges me 5000/- a month for the room with attached bathroom and food. I share my room with one, so its basically two of us in a room paying 5000/- each.

Alumni/Alumna

Yes, they are really friendly and helpful. I personally experienced a very good bond with my seniors regarding any issues faced or any help required by me.

Admission

I was always into Engineering from a kid and Computer Science was something interesting for me. Choosing this institution was mainly for the discipline, regularity and scope to build ourself. I got admitted through my JEE/CEE scores review and a short interview session. But alternatively if you haven't appeared any entrance tests, then you would need to appear for the college's own entrance test whose form fillup starts from March and passing in that will lead you to get admitted in this college.

Faculty

4

Faculties are quite interactive, friendly and epitome of knowledge in various field. In a day we have around 7-8 lectures sometimes combined with some lab classes or free hours or project hours. Faculties are also certified in highly knowledgeable courses or few industry trainings. They follow the rule of learning while teaching which helps us to get a full nurturing environment.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not really good in our college, it is more of a research institute so it mainly focuses on PhD as PhD strength is good. Higher education is more prefered here but placement scenario is also good

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is very relevant and is different for different branches according to their needs. I was interested in civil engineering and chose the course and find the curriculum intersting and relevant for me . The curriculum offers subject which are important for real world applications, like in civil engineering it's offers subjects like building construction, solid mechanics, fluid mechanics, material testing, serving, etc. The course curriculum is very good but the teaching methods needs improvement like more digitalization . The exams frequency and timings are neither too late nor too early, they are perfectly planned and executed.

Course Curriculum Overview:

There exists a good teaching staff that's why the course is very easy to understand also teachers give us good examples also do practicals so that's students understand the course easily . I see that there exist a low no of equipments in practical lab compare to it's students ratio so if they have a good no of equipments then all students get equipment to do experiment without any waste of time . Time is good as compare to marks and the first 30 marks are beginner level the other 40 marks are intermediate level and the remaining 30 Marks are advanced level questions in a question paper for the students they published.

Placement Experience:

The placement scenario is quite good, with several reputed companies like General Electric, Power Grid Corporation of India, Goldman Sachs, among others recruiting 94 percent of the students in the college. The placement takes place in three rounds, one testing one's aptitude, followed by an hour round, finally leading on to a technical round. Mock interview and job cracking sessions are organized regularly, both by the departments, and also the Training and Placement Cell, to prepare students for the interviews and examinations going forward. The Training and Placement Cell also provides internship opportunities at the end of third year for the students, based on their aptitude and abilities

I have mostly positive remarks about college except for the fact that the college is situated really far from mainstream north India. Train connectivity is not that strong to rest of country. But despite that the college is extremely good in the sense of learning, meeting new innovative minds, and of course placements and jobs.
