Remarks

Overall experience is pretty good, the course curriculum is very nice provided the enrolling student is willing to learn. The only set back is placements however alumni cover those also. You just have to be good in establishing a network.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

Course curriculum is pretty decent not only it covers the subject but the curriculum also inculdes some very important skills such as communication skills, basic computers, workplace skills etc so that the graduating students are ready as professionals. Exams are a basic part of the course. We had a weekly test (3 test per subject) out of those 3 best 2 was considered for final assessment of marks besides these weekly test semester exams and practical was also conducted and the students were marked accordingly. The curriculum was research based and also included various types of assignments which the students was expected to complete by a due date.

Placement Experience

1

If you are expecting campus placement, then this college is certainly not for you. Almost no campus placement facilities are available. You have to depend on the alumini of the department for placements, training as well as internship. However most of the students get a job after completing the course.

College Events

3.5

When I was a student an interdepartmental fest was held every year which went by the name Aghaaz 4 departments of namely Centre of Food Technology, Centre of Fashion Technology, Centre of Media Studies and Centre of Computer Education competed in various events such as Dancing,Singing, Cooking, Photography,Debates etc. It was really fun activity and everyone enjoyed it.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fees is quite affordable. There are two types of seats namely Merit seats and Paid Seats. Fees of merit seats was around Rs. 27000/- per semester and about Rs.35000/- per semester for paid seats. A security deposit of Rs. 5000/- which is refundable is also charged during admission.

Fees and Financial Aid

Yes scholarship was available for students who were financially weak, almost the whole fees was reverted.

Campus Life

4

Gender ratio was 1:1 in M.Sc. Food Technology. Lab is well equipped, everything required is present. Comptetions were held during aghaaz, the experience was certainly rewarding. One student was awarded as student of the year during aghaaz among all the 4 departments. Ragging was strictly prohibited. No sports activities were there.

Hostel Facilities

3

No, however hostel facility was available for the students which was just OK not good but not bad either. The hostel canteen served had veg as well as non veg food. The quality of the food was just OK. Wifi had good coverage.

Alumni/Alumna

Yes, almost all the placements, training and internship are by virtue of the alumni only. You'll have to maintain good relations with them for these benefits.

Admission

Getting admission in Centre of Food Technology is possible only by the entrance test. Entrance test consisted of two parts, 1st part is written test with multiple choice questions and 2nd part is In-campus personal interview. Once you clear these exams there will be a merit list of students who were successful and the admission process will proceed accordingly. The admission process generally starts in March-April. Eligibility criteria for the course is B.Sc in any subject with chemistry as main or secondary subject. The reason for selecting Centre of Food Technology for higher education is that it is one of the very few colleges with a NABL accredited lab, the tution fees is also moderate, teachers are very supportive and highly qualified. The college focuses on all round learning giving equal emphasis on theory as well as practical.

Faculty

4

The faculty is highly qualified and well versed. Most of the teachers are PhD holders, however sometimes research scholars also teach some of the subjects. Summer Training is also an essential part of the course in which teachers, entrepreneurs and many highly skilled person train students.
