Excellent executive MBA experience at IIM Bangalore

IIM-B is a premiere institute in the country and the MBA experience at IIMB is an amazing asset to a students life. Highly recommended.

I had taken PGSEM test conducted by IIM-B. This test is discontinued now, and participants have to take either of:CAT/GMAT/GRE. My intention was to get management education from the best school, but not at the cost of leaving my job. Hence I had targeted this executive program from IIM-B which offered PG-D in business management over weekend classes at IIM.

Extremely rigorous curriculum, with exactly same focus as PGP (2 year residential program at IIM). PGSEM/PGPEM participants have to take the same classes with the PGP participants, and have to sit exams with the same PGP folks. Depth / Breadth of curriculum is apt for MBA experience.

I have done an internship with my parent company for 3 months, as part of a project work. Stipend was not paid as I was employee of this organization during the time of the project.

PGSEM / PGPEM is an executive MBA and for most participants is sponsored by the employer. This restricts the placement opportunity. No placements are provided by IIM from this course.

95K per quarter, for 10 quarters. This fee has been raised off late, and the quarterly fee is ~ 1. 5 Lacs INR. # of quarters has been reduced to 8. Fee is to be paid at the beginning of each quarter. Banks transfers / cheque facilities are available.

Credilla education loan from HDFC - I have not availed. Not aware of any other education loan / scholarship.

Campus life is amazing. Though as PGSEM participants, we were spending only 2 - 3 days at campus, and mainly for classes (6 - 7 hours). Due to off-campus stay, could not enjoy the campus life completely. Yet the time that was spent at campus was amazing. The campus ambience is wonderful (very greed / tranquil environment). Extracurricular activities were very enjoyable, from the several fests, games etc. gender ratio in PGSEM is little skewed with about 10% - 90% female/male ratio.

Had not opted for hostel. Hostels are available on need basis, but as most participants in this program are based out of Bangalore, they prefer to attend classes from home. Recently, it seems hostel stay is made mandatory for 2 days (Saturday/Sunday). Not

There is a rich alumni network at IIMB. There is also an alumni NW for PGSEM which is quite strong, as this course is 25+ years old. Annual alumni meets are arranged at campus, with representations from various batches, and alums are easily accessible. There is an alumni office also dedicated to alumni communication.

Excellent. Top Notch in India. PGSEM/PGPEM participants take the same classes with the PGP participants, and from the same professors who are top notch in their areas of expertise.
