Remarks
Campus placements are improving year by year but its all about number of placements and not packages offered companies offering good packages should be given preference over companies hiring in bulk.
Entrance Preview
I took admission in this college based on my MHT-CET entrance test there were only four autonomous colleges at that time and this college was one of them there was centralized counselling held at COEP, Pune. When I was given a chance to select a branch and college, I had only two best options available i.e. production engg from COEP and all branches from SGGS Nanded i gave preference to better branch than college since it would decide kind of work I will do in future. I chose Electronics and Telecom from SGGS.I already knew that this college did not have good placement record those days as compared to other autonomous colleges. But I was interested in post graduation, so it did not matter to me.
Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum here is well defined keeping in mind future options for students. It fits well for post graduation entrance exam GATE syllabus. Many faculties are with Phd qualification and classes are held regularly with strict attendance criteria. Some faculties teach nicely and are friendly with students. HOD of my dept (current) is very friendly and accepts feedback from students positively.
Internships Opportunities
No companies came for internships during those days. Most of the students did internships in BSNL, Prasarbharti, etc govt companies. These internships were for namesake, not much serious stuff taught to students.
Placement Experience
Some selected companies come here for placement every year and select students in bulk. Some of those are Cognizant, TCS, Infosys, Nvidia, IGate Patni, Persistant, etc. Most of the students get placed but highest package will be no more than 4 LPA generally. (This data is from time of my campus).
College Events
A technical event named Pragya is held annually which includes many robotics events, some events for specific branches like programming competition, LAN games, etc a cultural event named Utsav is held annually which contains dancing, singing, arts and sports competitions.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Since this college is govt funded college, fees is very less as compared to private engineering colleges the fees was Rs. 27000 per year at the time of my graduation it slightly varies every year and generally decreases for second, third and forth year.
Fees and Financial Aid
There are no specific scholarships separately given by college all scholarships which are given are from Govt of India for reserved categories student loan options are available from banks separately.
Campus Life
There are many clubs run by students such as Robotics, Literature, Electronics, etc you can participate in any of those different events are held in hostels like Mr. and Miss. fresher, chocolate party etc if you are good at sports, there are separate inter-college sports competitions held every year.
Hostel Facilities
In hostel, the number of seats are limited and are filled separately according to CET score the rooms are shared among 3-4 students mess food is generally ok there are many rented rooms available near college campus different private mess are run and you
Alumni/Alumna
Alumni network is not much active but college is trying hard to reconnect with alumni and holds alumni meet every year senior students are generally helpful.
Exam Structure
There were two minor exams and one major exam every semester grading system is relative and hence getting good grades was easier than University system.
