Remarks

That time we had a newbies in management. Though conditions have changed now.

Course Curriculum Overview

3

The course is of 4 years which includes total 8 semester (2 semester each). The exams where conducted semester wise. In a semester there will be 2 internal exams which happens with a gap of two months then semester exams at the end of semester. They do take students for an industrial visit atleast once in the course.

Placement Experience

2

As it is a newly established college the placement is not that Feasible. But it's growing though. As I've Heard the companies are regularly conducting the placement interviews now. Rest is based on the luck and performance of the candidate.

College Events

3.5

There are bunch of events that takes place in the college during the semester. Technical Seminars- There's always going Seminars after from your course books that is organised by administration and by students too. Cultural Fests Sport's tournaments Etc

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fees structure is feasible like any other government engineering colleges (it's not the same though as this college charge more fees then the state government owned one's). You can pay the fee in cash, card, online payment, RTGS/NEFT, Demand Drafts, cheques etc.

Fees and Financial Aid

Yes the college do offer the scholarship and education loan facilities. I didn't opted for anyone of those but some of my batch mates did.

Campus Life

4

Campus Life is good. Surrounded by mountains the college area is also built in one of the mountains near Tehri dam on Bhagirath river. Labs were newly built and labs assistant too. Gender ratio is average like other engineering colleges. There are some sports events that happens between semesters.

Alumni/Alumna

Yes senior's where helpful but there's always both good or bad seniors. I got the good ones though. Ragging is banned in the college campus. They take required Action as per the notice of state government if one get caught on ragging norms.

Admission

Got admission through All India Entrance Exam for Engineering (AIEEE) in 2012. Now the admission entrance exam one have to qualify is Joint Entrance Exam(JEE). After clearing Joint Entrance Exam one have to attend online counseling after which the college will be allotted as per Your Rank in exam.

Faculty

2.5

Faculty of the college is Good, helpful, co-operative but lacks experience in teaching as they too were young and new recruits. The Lectures that takes in a day is 8 which are conducted following a weekly timetable. The classes where mostly based on the theoretical part but they do have the laboratories for the practical ones.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The exams schedule is fairly regular with internals, sessionals and end semester exams. While the frequency keeps us engaged with studies , it sometimes feels overwhelming when multi assessment are close together . The difficulty level of exams is moderate - neither too easy nor extremely thought . With proper preparation and understanding of the concepts taught in class , the exams are manageable.

Placement Experience:

Campus placement are quite bad as only a few companies come to our college for placement drive . Students becomes eligible for campus placement from the 3rd year onwards . Companies visited like TCS , HCL and some other not much popular companies visited but this year placement is very low . Our college also fake advertising about the placement they advertise the interships also as placements. 10 to 20 percent in BTech CSE are getting only Placement. I don't know what I will do after getting degree but currently I am doing a side by side diploma from IIT Roorkee to get some extra knowledge and skill improvement for better placements.

Infy, Techno India, Brumha and many as techies are required all over. From a watchmaker to salt maker without a techie a business can't grow big. So, even though there are 500+ CSE students still 75 percent or so get placed easily from our campus.

GEU and placements are like the best of friends. Getting 10, 20 and 30 lakhs a year here is so easy as placements are that good here. All top tech companies come here and therefore we get placements with ease here.

At GEU after second year, our progress which includes internships and our coding knowledge is monitored and we are trained accordingly then. So once we are in ur final and lin ourselves up for placements, we get enough time and experience that companies such as Microsoft, Amazon and even the Indian tech companies hires us with strong packages.

My plan is simple that I will do my best to get placed in a top IT company which GEU students in general do get placed at. Adobe, Microsoft and likewise all the biggest IT names operational get placements. Highest placements at GEU is around 94 lakhs and getting placed at 50 LPA or such dream packages from here is not a deal one can miss on if they have it in them.
