Remarks

I believe that if the faculty is improved, it can bring about a positive change in the college. Also, there are some academic and miscellaneous rules (like attendance, grading etc.) which are outdated, and needs to be amended. The infrastructure is a little crude as of now, but a lot of construction work has been going on. It will improve in the upcoming years

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

Our course curriculum and exam structure is heavily inspired by that of IIT Kharagpur, with additional modifications - which is great. Attendance has been made compulsory now, so students have to attend classes compulsorily, which in my opinion, is a little unjust, as students should be given enough freedom to choose their classes to attend. Most of the subjects taught are very standard, and industry-relevant. It is also taught keeping in mind the on-site interviews, so they are helpful. So far, as per my knowledge, no industrial visits have been organised.

Placement Experience

4.5

The placement statistics in this college is one major plus point. We have companies like Adobe, Amazon, GoJek, Innovacer etc. offering lumpsum packages to deserving students. Many students also bag great packages via off-campus placements. Out of all students who sit for placements, around 90% get placed every year. Our Training and Placement Cell plays a key factor in the placement scenario, conducting frequent mock rounds, to prepare the students for interviews. Internships can be availed in 3rd year, with companies like Adobe, Amazon, Goldman Sachs offering internships on campus.

College Events

4.5

Our college hosts three mega fests which are quite well known in Rajasthan. We have 1) Desportivos: The Sports Fest 2) Plinth: The Technical Fest 3) Vivacity: The Cultural Fest More than 80+ colleges from different parts of India come to participate in our fests. Artists like Darshan Raval, Jubin Nautiyal, The Local Train, Hardy Sandhu, Ritviz etc. have graced our fests before.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure in my opinion is a little expensive, being at around 4 lac/annum for the current batch. The college accepts cheque, demand draft, NEFT, and online payments as well. The college provides enough transparency into the fee structure, dividing it into various parts, like Academic Fee, Hostel and Mess Fee, Electricity Fee, etc. The admission process is completely transparent too. You can only secure admission based on your merit, donations are not considered here.

Fees and Financial Aid

I did not opt for a scholarship or an education loan. Although there are various options for loans that the college provides.

Campus Life

2.5

Campus Life is good in this college. There are various active clubs in the college, where one can hone their skills and interact with other people. Each club hosts their own flagship events, which are very well organised. Gender ratio is the college is alright, compared to other engineering colleges. The girls to boys ratio for each year is approximately 1:5. Majority of students here hail from Jaipur city itself. Many of them also come from nearby places like Bhilwara, Ajmer, Alwar, Udaipur etc. Some students come from other states like Gujarat, Maharashtra, Delhi as well. Very few students hail from the south.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

Yes, I have opted for hostel, rather, it is made compulsory for all students, as the campus is quite far away from the actual city. There are four main hostels in the campus for boys, and one hostel for girls. All hostels have good, spacious rooms, toilets that are cleaned regularly, ample ventilation. All rooms have centralized ducts, except for one boys hostel which has an AC for every room. There are enough rooms to accomodate all students.

Alumni/Alumna

The alumni base of our college is quite strong. Our college has an 'Alumni Association' as well, via which we can interact with various alumni, and get guidance regarding various fields. Seniors are also very helpful in this college, and you can see a good bonding between the juniors and seniors.

Admission

I got into this institute via JEE Mains, with a score of 144. There are 3-4 rounds of counselling, starting from May, and the academic year starts by end of July. I chose this college because: 1) It is more of a technology-oriented institute, most graduates go in for jobs in engineering rather than other fields like management 2) This college has a high number of students who get selected for Google Summer Of Code, and ACM ICPC, every year. 3) The placement statistics are great, with an average package of 10 lakh/annum, the highest being 40+ lakh. More than 90% of students who opt for interviews get placed. 4) It has a great coding/development culture, for budding Computer Science undergraduates. As for why I chose Computer Science, it was because I had an ardent passion for computers and I take great interest in the subject. This institute is well known for this course.

Faculty

3

In my opinion, the faculty is average, with its fair share of good, as well as bad professors. The culture here is that students mostly rely on external resources to gain knowledge, so they are not faculty-dependent. Each department has around 30+ professors, most of them having completed their Ph.D. from renowned institutes. The average age is likely around 40.
