AIEEE, got 126 state rank in Uttarakhand. Around 14500 AIR.Score: 153This is a very reputed university in Uttarakhand, and has good image for it's quality of education. That was the reason I joined it.
Course Curriculum Overview
Course curriculum was very good. The books in course are the same that are recommended in top level universities in USA. Although all the topics covered in the books are not part of the syllabus here.
Internships Opportunities
There were no companies that came for internship offering. We had to go out, apply in companies for internship. The support from college and the authorities is minimal, most of the times it feels as if they are against the students.
Placement Experience
The Training and Placement Cell in this University was probably the biggest shock, and later a disappointment for me. No support at all. Even if we talk to a company and convince them to come for placements, the cell won't even send an invitation letter. No effort at all for the future of the students.
College Events
The biggest technical event is the Colloseum. It's held once a year and is huge huge fun. More events than one can participate in. Lots of variety. Other than that, there is some or the other event being organized by different branch chapters/societies. Open Source Meets, Sports festivals are other events of interest that are frequent in the university.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Fee structure is feasible, it's actually quite less. Hostel and food expenses are more than actual tuition and other fees. But even the hostel and mess bills included, it was still around 20k per semester and to me that's reasonable.
Fees and Financial Aid
The toppers in branch get some amount of scholarship, not a lot but something is better than nothing. No loan facility that I know of, but the fees is not very high so loans mostly are not even required.
Campus Life
Campus life is fun. Apart from the faculty and placement, everything is good. Lots of extra curricular activities throughout the year.Interesting and challenging competitions. Gender ratios are maintained well, no discrimination after the admissions. Admissions do have quota and that is discrimination, but other than that all is good.
Alumni/Alumna
The best thing about this university probably is the network. There are many colleges in the same campus, the bonding between seniors and juniors is excellent. The alumni network is good too, if one keeps a track of the activities. Alumni meets are fun. There are alumni who are working at very high posts in companies, and are more than 30 years experienced, and even they are as much entertaining as anyone else.
Exam Structure
Exams are cool, not much pressure. Labs are good too, equipments are well maintained. Days are rarely hectic. There are some times when there are two exams on the same day but it's rare and still manageable.
Faculty
The faculty of college was not up to my expectations. There is not even a single Phd professor. Some have done Mtech, and most are just Btech. Classes and labs are taken by people who have done Btech from the same college, and most of the times the experience with them was pathetic.
