Remarks

Yes the college management was not very impressive. Lot many monopoly and politics. Exams structure of the college and campus, job placement was really good about that college at the end campus selection is what really matters.

Entrance Preview

I took the Karnataka state entrance test for MCA. My rank was 102. As per my rank BMS College of Enginnering is where I got the seat. I heard good reviews about this college so I have joined.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

Course curriculum was good. We studied C,C++,COBOL, Data Structures,Operating System,Unix,Computer Graphics,Software Engineering,DBMS,RDBMS. One suggestion is we can add Core JAVA to the curriculum as it is required everywhere and we can remove COBOL from the syllabus as it is outdated.

Internships Opportunities

Internship experience was really good. I selected in Sapient for my 6th semester MCA internship. The general stipend offered was 7-15k. This information is about 7 years ago(2008).

Placement Experience

5

Placement and job opportunities were really awesome in BMS College of Engineering. It was a duration of 2months after our 4th semester. In this 2months almost every single day a company used to come to our college for placement. 95% students were placed.

College Events

4.5

We had lot of cultural activities like Fresher's Day,Annual Function,Senior's Farewell. We used to have technical fest as well where faculties used to come from outside and provide a training which is used to be a 3-4 days of training programs.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Academic wise the fees was good but college hostel was quite expensive. After getting our jobs they used to take 5k from each student to give their offer letters which I feel is not right it should be part of our academic expense.

Fees and Financial Aid

I have not availed any scholarship or loan facility from our college. But my college mates has taken the loan amount.

Campus Life

4.5

Extra curricular activity was good. Freshers day,Annual Function,Farewell was also part of our extra curricular activity. We had a cricket match every year. Debates on every semester.

Hostel Facilities

4

I was not part of the hostel but there is a option is to pay and have the meal for outsiders. I liked the hostel food but college cafeteria food quality was not at all good.

Alumni/Alumna

Senior students were really helpful. They helped us during exams and during our jobs placement they provided us the important tips and the questions that could be helpful during interviews.

Exam Structure

It was not very hectic or nor very chilled out within a semester we had 3 internal exams and one external exams. Lab classes were twice in a week.

Faculty

2

Faculty was good. But few faculties are not apt for teaching MCA students. In most of the places we have to realy on our own studies and knowledge.

Placement Experience:

Placements in our college are average. Students become eligible for campus placements from the 2nd semester. Some companies visit the college and offer jobs in different roles. The average package is around 3-4 LPA and the highest package depends on the company. After completing my degree, I plan to get a good job and gain experience in my field

Students were allowed for placement from the final year. Only a few firms came and offers were limited. Avg pay was low and not many got placed. After MCA , my plan was to look for roles in tech and grow my skills.

Placements are good...lot of my friends got placed. But it even depends on individual intrests. At starting you get paid less but later on experience u can earn more. In case if placement doesn't happen you will still have the chance to explore outside.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The MCA course curriculum is well structured, relevant, and comprehensive. It covers core computer science subjects such as programming, data structures, databases, software engineering, and practical lab work, which influenced my decision to choose this course. The curriculum provides a strong foundation for both real-world applications and further academic pursuits. With the support of good and experienced faculty, concepts are explained clearly through theory, practical sessions, assignments, and projects. Exams are conducted on a semester basis with internal assessments and end-semester examinations. The frequency and timing of exams are appropriate, and the difficulty level is moderate. Students who attend classes regularly and follow faculty guidance can perform well.
