Remarks

It was established in 1932 as the first institute of Public health in the region of South east Asia. It gets support from many international organisations like WHO, FAO, UNDP, World bank etc. It has one of the biggest libraries.

All the courses are designed in a proper way. Couses offered are Diploma in dietics, diploma in public health, diploma in health statistics, diploma in industrial health, master of public health, M.sc. in Applied nutrition, diploma in maternity and child welfare.

As it is one of the finest institutes of India, there are an ample amount of placements and job opportunities available. There are a number of job opportunities in the area of public health and hygiene.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee is nominal as it is one of the best institutes of India.The hostels are provided with all the required facilities and mess food is also good. Hostel and mess charges are affordable. Competition is tough to get into this renowned institute.

Campus Life

Library is very large with over 28000 books and 9000 research papers. Various seminars and camps are held throughout the year. Various days like teachers day, youth day, yoga day are also celebrated.

Admission

I got enrolled into M.sc. in applied nutrition course by clearing West bengal post graduate applied nutrition admission test exam and an interview. Admission process is smooth and most of the steps are done online.

Faculty members are very well qualified and experienced in their respective fields. Dr. N.N. Naskar is the director as well as HOD of public health administration and Dr. Bobby paul is the HOD of preventive and social medicine.

Actually Some of the Local Companies & Private banks Offer placements which are averagely worth 250000/-. Some of the Students appear for it , but the Number is Very less.
