Remarks
College management is okay. I would want the administration to provide more working equipments in the labs and repair all the damaged devices in the campus.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course is quite relevant with the modern technology and scenario, though its not research driven but students are encouraged to develop and work on new technology. The exam structure is very appropriate. The exams are in no way unfair. The university has taken suitable steps to make sure that there is no cheating and unfair things happening during the examinations. And same goes for the college.
Placement Experience
Many companies visiting the college are from the software field and management field. Almost all students of the computer science and technology (CSE) get placed. But the core companies (related to mechanical, electrical and civil) visiting the college are very few. Infact, no company for the core electrical department has visited so far. Though we did get invitations for pool campus drive from two companies of the electrical field. The college doesn't provide any internship and doesn't help with it (like giving recommendations).
College Events
The biggest event of the college is the college festival which happens in February every year. It is apparently managed by the student council of the college and the same student council also holds various events in the college and manages all the clubs of the college. During the fest, we have DJ night dance, a celebrity is also called to the college who is generally a singer/dancer/actor. The event lasts for 3 days. During the event, various stalls (of games, eatables and others) are also put up. Apart from this, other events also happen during the year, like departmental fest/competitions, various celebrations, club events, etc.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Its around 1.3 lakhs INR per year (hostel fee not included), its not very expensive bcz many other top colleges affiliated with the university more or less charge the same amount. The college also charges admission fee during the admission and also security fee which is 10,000 INR.
Fees and Financial Aid
The university provides scholarship to all the students who have applied for it and are eligible for it, i.e. the income of their family is less than 6 lakhs INR. The university does not provide any education loan and taking loans from private banks is up to the family.
Campus Life
The overall gender ratio of the college, though not satisfactory, is much better than gender ratio of some branches of engineering like mechanical (3/100) and electrical (15/100). There are no groups and division among the students based on politics, religion, etc. The college has a large field where students may play hockey/football/cricket. There is also a basketball court and a volleyball court and one badminton court in the college hostel. The college does not have a free/game period so you will have to bunk classes if you want to play during the college hours but we do get library periods. There are also various clubs (around 25) in the college such as photography club, literary club, music club, martial art club, etc. The college hosts various competitions (sports tournaments, inter branch and branchwise events, robotics and hacking competitions, debates, etc) all round the year but i hardly participated in any.
Hostel Facilities
No, I haven't because the hostel fee is a bit expensive compared to some other private hostels in the area around the college. There are many hostels and PGs present in the vicinity, students can also find rental apartments in civil areas/society at some distance from the college.
Alumni/Alumna
There is an alumni network but its not very helpful. There is no ragging in the college and senior students are helpful.
Admission
I got admission thourough UPSEE counseling, the college is affiliated to AKTU (earlier the university used to be known as UPTU), AKTU conducts a national level exam every year where students can get admission in various colleges affiliated to AKTU depending on their ranks in the admission examination for various courses.
Faculty
Most faculty members have the necessary qualifications and the average age would be around 35, though the ones on higher posts are generally older than that. I'm don't know how the college selects faculty members. Most teachers are quite capable in explaining the topics and are quite good. But not all the faculty members are experienced. The lectures, though good, do not hold any relevant industry-experience or certifications.
