Remarks

Overall a positive remark about the college. They had focused on bringing out the best in each student by providing an excellent faculty and facilities. There were also sessions conducted by experts from outside.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The college abides by the MG syllabus which was pretty outdated. So much outdated that it never served any purpose in my professional life. The funny part being this outdated syllabus was so hectic too, but we sure had our chill days too, but mostly hectic. Exams after exams, internals, module tests, model exams, sem exams assignments, internals, etc.

Placement Experience

4

There were good placement opportunities although it's depreciating year after year. But the college is honestly trying its best to provide maximum placements and ensuring the students are ready for the placement exams and assessments by providing additional sessions and seminars.

College Events

3

There is primarily a technical festival called Brahma and an Arts day. Intermittently we had a mini tech fest kinda thing called Ashwamedha. Then there used to be a sports day, Onam celebration and similar events.

Fee Structure And Facilities

All the MG University affiliated colleges followed a standard fee structure which was revised every year. Then there were merit seats and scholarships which had their benefits. Additional payment had to be made for availing hostel facility obviously.

Fees and Financial Aid

Loans were provided by most banks. And scholarships are provided for deserving candidates. There was also scholarship based on caste. The less fortunate also had some provision to avail themselves of scholarships.

Campus Life

3.5

Sports activities weren't up to the mark. I'm not sure if they improved on that. There weren't any politics involved at that point in time. The college had an almost equal gender ratio although were more inclined towards Brahmins on the caste side.

Hostel Facilities

2.5

The hostel was an average facility with vegetarian food. The amenities were pretty basic. It's a basic infra that served as a hostel. There were 3 shared rooms and common washrooms on each floor. Wifi was also available.

Alumni/Alumna

The faculty does a great job of maintaining working alumni data. They do organize meet-ups etc. The alumni are welcome to the technical festival. Overall they do have a good alumni relationship and communication.

Admission

I had to collect a form from the college and fill in details regarding my entrance exam rank, my 12 and 10 CGPA my desired stream, etc and submit it back to the college. A week later they published a rank list based on the submission and students were interviewing in the order of their ranks and were awarded admission on a first come first serve basis. They also made it a point that the pupil had to pay the first installment of the fees during the interview process else the seat is lost.

Faculty

4.5

The faculty really did a great job in ensuring that every student studied and they could provide as much help as possible. The faulty was efficient and really knowledgeable people. They did strive a lot in ensuring that students got good grades.

Placement Experience:

The placement here is top notch. This year in my campus the highest CTC offered was 56.5lpa by PALOALTO. Placements process is centralised at coimbatore though. Students are eligible for campus placements from third year or s5. Average package in computing department ranges from 10-12lpa. My plans after degree is to pursue MS: opportunities of which are provided by the college itself. In computing department almost 90% of the students have been placed according to the seniors I talked to. However it is lower in other streams.

Civil engineering is a course with least placement in every engineering colleges. Students are placed during their fourth year in college. Sobha Constructions Ltd is one of the main companies that visits college. 200000rupees package is the average package offered. Les than 25 percent civil engineers get placed. I plan to prepare for GATE exam and pursue more in this course.
