Remarks

The infrastructure is not very good. The college is still very much under construction. The alumni network is not strong. The location of college is also not good. campus for pg and ug students are separated.

Course Curriculum Overview

Course curriculum is very flexible. One can opt for courses of his choice. There are free elective courses also which allows to choose courses from other branches also. Two quizzes and one end sem exam are conducted each semester.

Placement Experience

Placements and job opportunities are very good. Internships are also provided by the college. All big companies like Google Amazon Microsoft Facebook etc came to college to hire. Average salary is 6 lakh.

College Events

Many fests are organised every year. Technical and cultural fest, Lit fest, and sports fest are organised every year. All are very big and participations from many colleges including NITs are observed.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee structure is very expensive. Tution fee is one lakh rupees per semester and other costs including hostel mess and transportation add up to 30000 rs per semester. But tution fee waiver is also provided.

Fees and Financial Aid

Those students whose family incone is less than 1.5lakh rupees per annum are provide 100 percent tution fee waiver and those with income less than 5 lakh rupees per annum are provided 66 percent fee waiver.

Campus Life

Gender ratio is 3:1 in favor of males. Workshop are organised regularly. There are many cultural and technical clibs like drama club dance club music club robotronics club programming club etc. They organise regular sessions.

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni network is not strong yet as it is a new college and only 5 batches have passed out. But all the alumnis are very helpful. Seniors too are very helpful. There is no sign of ragging. They talk very respectfully and are always ready to help juniors.

Admission

I got admission through Jee advanced examination. I got computer science and engineering branch at this college in JOSAA counseling. This is the best branch in the college. Admission process is completely online.

Faculty

Faculty are very good. Most are young and a few are very old. Most of them are assistant professors. All have Ph.D degree. Ther are very qualified and interested in teaching a particular course. They are very punctual.

Placement Experience:

Chandigarh-based companies or the startups, and training institutes come here. Companies like Meander Software, Bebo Technologies, Novem Control, BookingKoala - Sales Hungary, etc. companies come. Average package is 3.8 LPA, and 50% students are getting placed. My plans after getting the degree is working in an IT company.

yes they povide placements. After 6th sem, means in 7th sem you are eligible for placement and apply for companies based on their requirements. Google, Microsoft, Adobe, Amazon and many more visits every year. Highest is the PPO of 93 lakhs and placement of 60 lakhs. around 93% are placed who registers for placements Average CTC is around in between 18 to 22 lakhs

Placement Experience:

At NIT Hamirpur, students become eligible for campus placements from the 7th semester onwards, and the placement scenario has been quite encouraging in recent years. A wide range of companies such as Infosys, Wipro, L\&T, Capgemini, Tata Projects, and several core as well as IT firms visit the campus every year. The highest placement touched an impressive 2.05 crore offered to a mechanical engineering student, while the overall average package stands at around 10.5 LPA, which is a strong figure compared to many other NITs. The placement percentage remains high, with a majority of students securing offers, especially in branches like CSE, IT, and ECE, though core branches like civil and mechanical also receive good opportunities. The profiles offered include roles in software development, consulting, design, project engineering, and research. After completing my degree, I plan to take advantage of these placement opportunities to gain solid industry experience and later decide whether to pursue higher studies or competitive exams for broader career growth.

IIT Mandi- my home and karmbhoomi

Honestly I initially thought of branch change and college in some what cold place which led me to this college. Our college is moderate in comparison to other iits, obviously you cant compare it with old iits , but yeah its decent enough, having good students and friends. Placement of four college is better than other iits. Some years result in placement ogf good no. of students whereas some leads to okish. The sport facilities are ok. Swimming pool is not of olympic size and it requires lot of time for repair of the sport equipments. Admission process is through Jossa counselling after JEE Advanced. I applied for VIT, NIT BHOPAL, IIT Jodhpur, IIT Jammu, IIT BHU, IIT Ropar, NIT Durgapur, and many of the IITS and NITS. I choose only this so, didn't fill for confirmation for others. IIT MANDI KE ANSUNE KISSE

The admission process at IITs are generally common through a cmon entrance exam all over India named jee mains for nits and then after qualifying in that we need to score good in jee advanced. There are reservations for sc, st, obc and economically backward classes. Like you can get good branches with lower marks. For example in computer science you can get 6000 rank for obc but around 2000 for general candidates....Read More
