Remarks

Overall, KIIT is an extremely good college not only for studies but also for your overall development as a human being. KIIT not only nurtures good engineers but also sees to it that you overall personality gets a boost up so that you are ready to face the challenging world.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The courses are extremely good and have been done keeping in mind the latest technologies and research going on in the world. The faculties are extremely helpful and always ready to assist you. As far as the exam structure is concerned, in the mid of the session you have you mid-semester examinations(20 marks) and at the end of the semester you have the end semester examinations(50 marks). The rest 30 marks are internal marks where your assignments, regularity and maintenance of class notes would fetch you those marks.

Placement Experience

4

The placement and job opportunities are excellent. Companies like Deloitte, Mu-Sigma, Cognizant, TCS, HCL, HighRadius and a lot more come every year to recruit students. The college as such does not provide any internship of its own, but companies like HighRadius organize and offer Internship with PPO to the students during the summer break.

College Events

5

KIIT celebrates almost every festival as it is a small world in its own. People of almost every caste and culture are found over here. Even as I am writing this today, Lohri is being celebrated in my college. Festivals like Durga Puja, Lohri, Bengali's New Year, Chhat Puja are celebrated.

Fees and Financial Aid

Scholarships are provided in the sense that if the results of your first year are very good (i.e. above a certain CGPA), they offer you a scholarship where a part of your fees is cut-down by the college.

Campus Life

4.5

KIIT is such a college which offers you an array of extra curricular activities which students generally have to drop out of due to pressure of academics. The college promotes every type of sport ranging from chess, tennis, badminton to tae-kwondo, football, rugby and what not. In extra-curriculars, the college offers dance, singing, writing, poetry, instrumentals to name a few. Every other weekend there is organized a workshop, be it academics related or extra curricular.

Hostel Facilities

4

Hostels are extremely well-maintained and clean. The infrastructure is quite good. With good food and clean rooms, they can be opted. The facilities are also good. You get breakfast, lunch, snacks and dinner everyday. 3 days a week you get Non-Veg food.

Alumni/Alumna

The alumni network is extremely large. Every year, our college has a regular alumni meet where all the present and pass-out students come together. Even if there were some faculty who have left the college due to various purposes, they also come to this meet. The seniors too are very good. There is absolutely no ragging in our college and a very co-operative and positive environment prevails. I have met a senior through a friend who is like my big brother now. I go to him for almost every advice I need and he treats me like my little sister.

Admission

I had always loved computer. Therefore that made me choose the course that I am currently pursuing. For admission, first you have to fill in the registration form for the online entrance test i.e. KIITEE which is held in various centres across India. After registration you have to do the slot booking as per your choice as to when you want to appear for the exam.

Faculty

4

The faculty are extremely well equipped and have an efficient grasp over the subjects. They are always ready to help you and extremely supportive. The teachers are very highly educated and qualified. Many of our faculties are the alumni of IITs.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The technical background and future influenced me to choose this course. The preparation for real-world applications or further academic pursuits are average. Theres no fair improvement needed in the course curriculum and teaching methods. The frequency of the exams are 2 sem exams and 4 quiz in class exams. The timings for sem exams are 3 hours while for quiz tests its 30 minutes. The difficulty level is average of all the exams

Placement Experience:

Placement record is not so good.. companies like Microsoft and Google have blacklisted KIIT due to poor performance and mismanagement by the KIIT in providing with the right candidates. KIIT shortlists students in basis of multiple tests taken on platforms like AMCAT and on that basics provides the profiles of best performing candidates to the companies invited for campus hirings regardless of the field and job specifications and requirements, so basically KIIT has a very below average performance Training and Placement Cell as they lack decision making and management skills to segregate candidates for hirings according to their skills and not by their general scores and CGPA. NOTE: Companies have shown least interest in KIIT for last 2 years and the poor performance of previous batches and mismanagement by KIIT authorities. KIIT promises 100% placements but that is actually far from reality.
