Remarks

The location of college is not very good and is under construction. Only seven ug branches are offered. Educational infrastructure is not very good. Sports facility is also not very good. Food qwality is very good.

Course Curriculum Overview

Course curriculum is very flexible with a very good focus on research. Each semester two quizzes and one end-sem exam is conducted. Labs are very frequent. The overall day is not very hectic and get a lot of time for other activities.

Placement Experience

Placements and job opportunities are very good. Big companies like google,amazon,microsoft,samsung etc recruited. There has been 50 percent increase in package from last year. College also provides internship opportunities.

College Events

All the festivals are celebrated in college. Holi,deewali, dussehra,ganesh chaturthi,eid,etc all the festivals are celebrated joyfully. Regular fests are organised. Lit fest, tech fest,ciltural fest and sports fest are organised every year.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee is expensive. The tution fee is 1 lakh per semester for UG. other fees add up to Rs 40000 per semester. But fee waiver are also offered on tution fees. Those whose family income is below 1lakh per annum gets 100 percent waiver on tution fee.

Fees and Financial Aid

Those whose income is below 1lakh per annum gets 100 percent fee waiver on tution fees. Those whose income is below 5 lakh per annum gets 66 percent fee waiver on tution fees. Besides there is Merit cum Means scholarship.

Campus Life

Gender ratio is 3:1 in favour of males. Workshop are regularly organized. There are many cultural and technical societies like programming club robotronics club drama music and dance club etc. Sports is optional.

Hostel Facilities

I have opted for hostel. Hostel infrastructure is very good. I think this is the best hostel infrastructure you will get in any govt. college. Hostel rooms are very spacious.100 students live in a hostel. Hostel rooms are single double and triple bed rooms.

External Expense: Rs.2000 - Rs.4000

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni network is not very strong yet. But seniors are very helpful. Alumnis too are very helpful. Seniors regularly organise session on different topics. Alumnis connect regulary with the students of the college

Admission

I got admission through JEE Advanced examination. After qualifying the exam I appered in JOSAA counseling and got the college. Admission process was completely online. I opted for cse branch as its placement record is very good.

Faculty

Faculty are very good and teaches very well. Faculties are on time and very friendly. Most of the faculties are young with a few very old faculties. Most of them are assistant professor. They mostly depend on slide presentation for teaching.

Chandigarh-based companies or the startups, and training institutes come here. Companies like Meander Software, Bebo Technologies, Novem Control, BookingKoala - Sales Hungary, etc. companies come. Average package is 3.8 LPA, and 50% students are getting placed. My plans after getting the degree is working in an IT company.

yes they povide placements. After 6th sem, means in 7th sem you are eligible for placement and apply for companies based on their requirements. Google, Microsoft, Adobe, Amazon and many more visits every year. Highest is the PPO of 93 lakhs and placement of 60 lakhs. around 93% are placed who registers for placements Average CTC is around in between 18 to 22 lakhs

Placement Experience:

At NIT Hamirpur, students become eligible for campus placements from the 7th semester onwards, and the placement scenario has been quite encouraging in recent years. A wide range of companies such as Infosys, Wipro, L\&T, Capgemini, Tata Projects, and several core as well as IT firms visit the campus every year. The highest placement touched an impressive 2.05 crore offered to a mechanical engineering student, while the overall average package stands at around 10.5 LPA, which is a strong figure compared to many other NITs. The placement percentage remains high, with a majority of students securing offers, especially in branches like CSE, IT, and ECE, though core branches like civil and mechanical also receive good opportunities. The profiles offered include roles in software development, consulting, design, project engineering, and research. After completing my degree, I plan to take advantage of these placement opportunities to gain solid industry experience and later decide whether to pursue higher studies or competitive exams for broader career growth.

IIT Mandi- my home and karmbhoomi

Honestly I initially thought of branch change and college in some what cold place which led me to this college. Our college is moderate in comparison to other iits, obviously you cant compare it with old iits , but yeah its decent enough, having good students and friends. Placement of four college is better than other iits. Some years result in placement ogf good no. of students whereas some leads to okish. The sport facilities are ok. Swimming pool is not of olympic size and it requires lot of time for repair of the sport equipments. Admission process is through Jossa counselling after JEE Advanced. I applied for VIT, NIT BHOPAL, IIT Jodhpur, IIT Jammu, IIT BHU, IIT Ropar, NIT Durgapur, and many of the IITS and NITS. I choose only this so, didn't fill for confirmation for others. IIT MANDI KE ANSUNE KISSE

The admission process at IITs are generally common through a cmon entrance exam all over India named jee mains for nits and then after qualifying in that we need to score good in jee advanced. There are reservations for sc, st, obc and economically backward classes. Like you can get good branches with lower marks. For example in computer science you can get 6000 rank for obc but around 2000 for general candidates....Read More
