College is good management needs a bit improvement but it will be ok soon

Course Curriculum Overview

Its a good course its ofcoure research oriented we have many on field experience we ourselves have a ship in campus and workshops We how ever dont have any industrial visits but we have a ship visit in the second semester The curriculum is groomed to provide industrial knowledge

Placements are good every one who has above 80 percent are placed in the end of third year companies are msc,mol,synergy,etc.they give coaching for placement interviews.

Our tech fest is propulzo which is a national level techmo cultural fest.we celebrate all national festival inclusing diwali,vishu,holi,onam,etc.everyone participates here we do it as a team. Through the tight schedules these celebrations are a relif for us

Fee is a bit expensive but the benifits are there. For a normal student without any reservation the total fee is about 12 lakhs its transparent For the reseved students such as sc st they have a fee of rs 12000 per sem and thats refundable There is no aditional fees exept hoatel fee which is 20k per sem

Yes,hostel rooms are the best in the university with 24 hrs water and electicity supply. The food in the hostel is also good Tye hostel holds a very nice infra structure there are three people in a room.

I got the admission through cat exam held for cusat aspirants i Choose this college bcoz its the only one cllg for marine engg in kerala I needed this course to travel across the world The steps are 1 entrance exam 2 giving option for the course 3 allotment 4 if you are alloted you get through a doc verification and fee payment thats all

About 40 to 50 lectures average age would be 40 i think everyone is postgraduated The all have the industrial experience as all of them are previous marine engineers or otger engineers before they got into this field They are experts in teaching and they have been shoeing us that

we are eligible for placement from the 7th sem. Many famous and small compines vist our college. Infosys, WIPRO, TCS vist our college. But the big companies take only few student. Highest package was 1,00,000. And the average package is around 4,00,000. Almost all students gets placed from the campus .

My Experience at NIT Calicut

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would rate the EEE course curriculum around 8-8.5 /10 in terms of relevance.The curriculum provides strong fundamentals in core electrical engineering subjects and prepares students well for core jobs and higher studies.The course curriculum was revised in 2023, and our batch is the 1st batch under the new curriculum. however, there are still limited coding ,AI and data science subjects in EEE ,which could be improved. Exams are conducted times per semester and are generally moderately difficult.

Placement Experience:

The placements here are quite good, but not great. Because only 50% of students in a class are getting placed. From S7 onwards the placements have been started for our department. But for other departments, from S8 only companies have arrived. For CSE department, many companies are coming which include Cognizant, SOTI, Mitsogo, EY, 6D Technologies, etc. Our senior batch students have placed at many companies in this. But comparing with other senior batches, the placements at our batch is really bad.

I chose this college over other maritime institutes as this college has had a very high placement rate in the recent times.It's placement rate in the last year ie of 2023 batch was 100%.I did not apply to other maritime colleges i only applied to kmsme.The admission process in my college is first you have to write a exam called imu cet and you need to have a valid rank in that examination and you also need to apply for cusat cat examination these are the requirements required to apply to my college.The cutoff ranks vary every year.Every year the competition is getter tougher and tougher so you also need to have a good rank to get the admission.so i would suggest a rank below 5000k in imu cet will secure you a seat in kmsme.My overall admission experience was good in this college .The staff were very friendly and helped me in every step of the admission process and during the admission process they had conducted an induction class to talk to us about the course and discuss every aspects of the course to us...Read More
