This is a very reputated college since 1949 but lost its glory nowadays. The college needs to be more updates with the current scenario of the industry and should provide more better placement opportunities. The college has center of excellence. This has Siemens courses on automation. College students gets free access to these courses but in this also faculties are less
Course Curriculum Overview
The course here is very chilled. This is a state run government college. So it has amazing lab, with latest equipments but the faculties are not willing to demonstrate to students the uses of the equipments. The course is also not revised thus it doesn't have latest technology in it.
Placement Experience
Overall placement is average. Electronics branch doesn't have any core company for placement. Students of ECE gets placement in IT companies with an average package of 3.5 lakhs. No college doesn't provides internship opportunities. But college is growing. Incubation center is set up but God knows when it will get started.
College Events
College doesn't provide much fund for events. So events are not that fascinating here. Late nights are not allowed to organise here. There are various clubs and societies here which organises these events
Fee Structure And Facilities
For girls there is no tution fee. So for girls there is 7500 of annual fee and 3000 mess fee per month. For boys the fee is 15000 annually with mess charge of 3000 per month. For every semester we have to pay 2850 rupees for form filling. So it's a cheap college. Getting btech degree with such less expense is the advantage of this college.
Fees and Financial Aid
The almuni for this college give BITSAA scholarship to students on the basis on studies and financial conditions. For ST SC OBC students e-kalyan scholarship is there of 20000. Meritorious financially weak students of each year gets laptop by almuni.
Campus Life
Every batch contains 700-750 students out of which 100-150 are girls. Hostel Life is amazing here excluding the mess food and restrictions. Restrictions are there but nobody cares and enjoy. The college have 50% reservation for ST SC, OBC and economically weaker students.
Hostel Facilities
Students here have to opt for hostels as it is in remote area there is no facility for PG. Girls have to stay in a Sharing of 5 girls. But new hostel is made so now 1yr girls in new hoste share 3 in a room and rest year girls 4 or 5 in a room. For hostel also there is no charge for girls we just pay 5000 for maintenance and 200 electricity bill yearly.
Alumni/Alumna
Yes the alumni network is very effective. They help students alot by giving scholarships, internships. The alumnis are at very good place. Recently met an alumni of ECE who is at Apple. Alumnis are at ISRO NASA. Many almunis are CEO director of reputated organisation.
Admission
Admission in BIT, Sindri in my time in the year 2016 was conducted by JCECE. The entrance exam was like JEE mains exam. It consisted of 150 questions. Physics, chemistry, Maths each subject 50 questions. Questions were from NCERT syllabus with a moderate difficulty. I choose Electronics and communication as my specialisation course as i was interested in this. The alumni network of this college is very strong. The alumnus of this college are at very reputated position.
Faculty
Faculty are knowledgeable here but the situation here not let them to deliver there knowledge. Recently there was huge recruitment of young faculties who have done their post graduation from IITs. But nowadays every student is focussing on degree only not in gaining in depth knowledge. So they are also student of this generation only.
