Remarks :
Only positives the very beauty of the College takes your breath away. It was truly the best time of our lives. Theres a tree planted by Mahatma Gandhi in our College sitting under the tree and imagining how it was back then is priceless. And the class room in which we sat on our first year was a court room in 1800s and it is protected by archeological department. We also experiencing a part of history there. And we were creating our own along side.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The course structure is determined by the university which controls a lot of other Colleges the syllabus was a bit outdated with more focus on theory with less practical applications. But the facilities available at the College was masssive. Since they had lots of research scholars. It was a dream space for research fellows as well.
Placement Experience :
No our College doesn't provide intership. But it provide a lot of placement opportunities. Every year recruiters from top companies came to the College to hire the best students. Eventhough I didn't get it, my brother got a job at Infosys which a top MNC of the country.
College Events :
Every year the College conducts arts day, sports day and other cultural events in which only students from the College are allowed to participate. But each departments are allowed to conduct tech and cultural fests in which students from other Colleges are allowed to participate. During our course of time in our tech fest, we held science exhibitions, workshops for both school students and College students across the state. Other than that there were competitions like treasure hunt, computer game championship, quiz etc.
Fee Structure And Facilities :
The fee was negligible since the College was aided and most students received scholarships. The only money I had to spend was for travel expenses. My friends also were like that the only fee paid was examination fees which was only about 600 rupees for a semester and the miscellaneous fees were below 1000.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The scholarship I got was called post metric scholarship which provided, rupees 2000 a year plus I got the money I paid as examination fees after some months from payment. As our College was aided is almost the same as a government College with a negligible fee structure. And affordable for the poorest of students. And having a top class set of faculties and facilities.
Campus Life :
As I said earlier our College had a very high standard in case of research facilies, a lot of students from other Colleges came to conduct tests in our labs because some equipments were only available in 2 or 3 Colleges in the district. And when I comes to sports we had one basketball court, cricket court, foot ball court, hockey court and a volleyball court. There were all of good standards and state level competitions of every one of these sport was conducted from time to time in our College
Alumni/Alumna :
I had a very good experience with our seniors, they were very friendly towards us providing study materials and tips for the course and being good mentors. And tried doing the same to our juniors. The College does conduct an annual reunion in every november, since the College was established way back more than a hundred years before we can see elders with a lot of experience at our College that day. Grandpas and grandmas visiting their College and collecting their old memories is a sight that fills our mind.
Admission :
When I was going through high school we had a study tour to the College for a science exhibition. We were allowed to roam the College that day. And fell in love with College, the only thing I wanted from then was to study there. So I scored good marks and applied for Bsc Physics there and I got it in the second allotment and there was I at UC College, it was a dream come through.
Faculty :
For our course physics every teacher had a Ph.D and most of them graduated from IITs which are pioneering institutions in the country. So I could say the faculties were of high standards. It sometimes also posed an issue since they were having such knowledge, sometimes the slower ones among us were having trouble catching up and they may never bother about it.
