Remarks

The college is really good. The faculties are very helpful. The only things which the college needs to improve is hygiene. The college canteen is very dirty and untidy and the building and the college classrooms are unhygienic and full of dirt and smells foul. The college still has an offline counter for fee payments which opens for specified period like 3 days for examination fee payments so it's going to be very hectic being in the queue and waiting for your turn. But the college is implementing new technologies and I hope that the online fee payment starts soon.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The curriculum of the college is mostly on teams predefined my the university of calcutta. The course I am in has got 6 semesters and the syllabus is evenly distributed in all the semesters. There's project work involved as well for the practical knowledge of the students. The faculty of the college is also very good. There are various IT related topics in the curriculum which you would be taught like DBMS, Excel and tally etc. The course structure is well planned seems to work in the favor of the student in professional career.

Placement Experience

1.5

For placement there's no direct by any company though the college arranges for jobs fairs where some recruiterment and Human resources companies come. But no MNC or even a decent job directly by the college. I big disappointed.

College Events

3

A wide range of events are celebrated in the college. Events of different religions like Saraswati puja and Eid. To promote health and fitness the college celebrates Sports day and Annual function where they organize different games and programs. The college celebrates Fresher's Day to make the newcomers comfortable with the existing students. The college organizes various events like recently they organized a parade for Women Empowerment and a few weeks back an event on malaria and good health.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure of the college far away from anything called expensive. The course I am is Bachelor of Commerce and the annual fee for that is roughly Rs 4000 (including examination fee). The college also gives concessions to students for different economic classes so if you can't afford the fees not to worry.

Fees and Financial Aid

I didn't opt for the scholarship program provided by the college but if there's a student coming from an economic class where one needs the scholarship they could easily avail the scholarship. There's nothing like you have to score to get the scholarship. The scholarship only covers your college fees not the examination fees and the cost of the books.

Campus Life

2.5

The campus life in the college is good you have library to sit and talk with the friends. There was a common room in the college which is no more functional. The college organizes different debates and programs. The gender ratio in the college is decent enough. One could opt for programs like NCC backed by the college.

Hostel Facilities

0.5

No, there's no direct hostel facilities provided by the college. But if you want to opt for a hotel or PG there are many of them available near the college. So that's never going to be an issue but the charges is not going to be as economic as the one's a college provides.

Alumni/Alumna

There are many successful alumni's in the college and the seniors of the college are also very good and helpful. One could always go to them and seek for suggestions and help for different arenas of the college. There's even a union of seniors in the college and they are always there to help.

Admission

I Choose B.Com because I was always inclined more towards trade and business. This college is the nearest from my place and I had friends in the college. I also knew a few professors through my friends here so I opt for this college. For the admission one needs to fill the online application and wait the merit list comes online. Then the students are given a date to come and get admitted into the college. Anyone who scores 65% in HS can easily get admission into the college.

Faculty

4.5

The faculties of the college are well training and very friendly. There are many professors who sit with you in library for hours to clear your doubts. Now I am not saying this is going to be the case with every faculty you get there but the majority of them falls under the above category.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is of course outdated. Teaching methods are old. No case studies, competitions or project of any sort is there in the curriculum. Although a project of 100 marks is there in the final sem, but I don't think that's enough. There is no practicality in the curriculum and usability in career. The syllabus really needs an uplifment.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is average , I chose this course because I wanted to do an honours degree and I'm from commerce background so my first pick was B.Com . They really put efforts to prepare students for well future , as I said earlier some teachers are genuinely very good helpful supporting and good at what they do . Something they need to approve is the 70% attendance criteria, I think they need to understand not every student is just persuing graduation they are doing some other courses or jobs etc so they can't maintain 70% attendance . The frequency of timing is average

Course Curriculum is Comprehensive, focused equally on Academics and Practical Exposure.. I chose because of that extra year of research I can choose to do in my final year (4th year) of graduation and I'll have an Hons. Degree at the end of 4th year of my college... Practical insights makes sure we are being trained to tackle practical world and academic knowledge ensures we are eligible to apply for further Education.. I will say more focus on Practical Exposure and a little extra focus on Sports May Take This Curriculum to a different level..
