Remarks

Overall I’m very happy about my college and I can say in a way I’m quite privileged to get to study in a college like this. The only bad remark I have for this college is the fact that it doesn’t let us in without the ID cards and is quite strict concerning this.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

The course offers various opportunities in the field of research, and various contexts like food technology, medicine, environmental science. This course deals with the understanding, learning, questioning and analysing the role of various microbes and their different roles in the specific environment. The college also includes scientific article publication as a necessary requirement for the course completion and also encourages to present the scientific work in seminars and conferences. In regards to labs we’ve had our good and bad days, it all depends on the experiments and the subject.

Placement Experience

4

The placements and job opportunities is average when it comes to our college as it does not provide direct internship programs, but the placement cell in college provides us information about the companies that are good for a specific course and also conducts annual seminars about job, career counselling and provides placement opportunities on and off campus. I haven’t taken part in any internships as of now hence has no much information in this area.

College Events

4.5

The college helds a lot of fests and events, some of which are Pratibha which is an inter college fest, Meraki ( a feat conducted by the arts and media department), Visages, Meta which is an annual fest conducted by the Literature department of college and has gained much recognition over the years, this particular fest was also put up in an article in the TOI( times of India) recently. The college encourages everyone to participate in such fests by rewarding us with credits, a minimum of 5 credits is required for the course completion.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure in college is quite feasible in comparison to the facilities the college has to offer. The fees range from 27K to 70K with 70K being the highest. The art and commerce courses charges higher fees compared to the sciences because the arts and commerce have increased opportunities for jobs and placements as the college is recognised by companies like Infosys and many more.

Fees and Financial Aid

I haven’t applied for any scholarships as of now because we are allowed to apply for scholarships only in our 2nd and 3rd year. But from my knowledge the college offers so many scholarships, like minority scholarships, SC/ST scholarship, merit scholarship for those who have scored more than 80% in their 2nd PUC.

Campus Life

5

The labs are all well equipped and facilitated. The college encourages students to take part in every extra curricular activities and is very active in taking a stand against various social concerns, it provides credits for participating in state level seminars and workshops, and for any voluntary social services. The college also has assigned associations for every cultural group in India, the college has recently held a rally celebrating the LGBTQ rights and was recognised by the TOI in one of its article, and also have held the AIDS rally, and a silent protest against the recent political riots in the country like CAA.

Hostel Facilities

4

The college runs three hostels to accommodate boys and girls, one in the college campus, one at Ejipura and one at Sneha Nilaya for the girls. Since I stay with my family, I don’t have much information about the infrastructure and facilities, but from my friends point of view, the hostels provides good food and facilities.

Alumni/Alumna

The college seniors are very helpful and supportive, they’ve always reached out to us. I’m very proud to mention one of our alumni Rahul Dravid who has always been a great influence to the students of this college.

Admission

The whole admission process took me about a month. First I had to visit the college website and fill in personal details and information about my grades, after a week of approval from the college I was called for an interview. During the interview I was asked if I willingly took up this course and was also asked questions about the course of interest ( microbiology), after that I was sent to the Principal’s office and was then interviewed by the Principal himself.

Faculty

4.5

The faculty of college are highly qualified and well equipped. The college looks at their professional qualifications, achievements, skills and research works. A minimum qualification of NET( national eligibility test) is required. The faculty seems very passionate and energetic about their job and create an environment of learning, analysing skills, they also encourage students to take part in workshops and seminars and other co - curricular activities held by the college, they classes are more like an interactive session where every student is encouraged to voice out their views on their subjects of interests.
