Course Curriculum Overview

4

Yes, the course is updated especially in CCE, maybe because it was a new branch then. It was started in 2013, when I joined. I had subjects like AI, parallel programming. They also had a lab in which nvidea was a partner. That thing was crazy, it was a supercomputer used for modeling, ran with parallel programming models, back then it was used for weather models. The curriculum was meant for industrial applications, impact if you choose your electives right you could have specialized in any aspect, like take machine learning and ai or take extra algorithm based course or operating system based course, etc. Industrial visits weren't for us, but other stream students did get an industrial visit. Like I said nvidea was powering our supercomputer, Microsoft came every year for the hackathon, Google came for workshops and so forth.

Placement Experience

4.5

Lots of companies came to college, just go on their website and find out. Every company had its own way of recruitment. Most held 2-4 rounds of selection, which included multiple coding rounds, face to face interview, hr rounds, etc. If I remember correctly all students who sat for placement were placed barring 2 from my batch, I believe they had a very low GPA. Yes, MIT had preplacement classes after normal classes for 5/6 semester students. All the basics were revised and lots of previous year placement questions were provided. They offered huge help for students to crack the placements.

College Events

5

There are major 2 events, one was techtatva, which was the technical festival. Lots of workshops, competitions, quizzes, etc. All the competitions were of the technical aspect like robot wars or best coders etc. The other was revels, were again lots of competition, by different clubs like music/art/dance/sports competition with live performance and ended with a live concert by dj/singer.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Mine was 264000 for the last 3 years. First-year was the same fees for all, around 218000. The only fee you need to pay is seat holding amount, back in 2013, it was 10000. This fee ensured your seat was booked. Yes, complete transparency is maintained in fee breakup, for both hostel and tuition.

Fees and Financial Aid

The college offered a scholarship for low-income family students and Manipal University's employees' children. It did offer a scholarship for an extremely gifted student, but I am not aware of how much the scholarship was or how it was offered.

Campus Life

5

Campus life is great, you have lots of places to chill, great weather if you love humid summer. Gender ratio is skewed because it's an engineering college. Workshops are amazing, some clubs are fantastic like summit Manipal, mock parliament, etc. IECSE and robomanipal are amazing. You have a club for everything, also you are allowed to open your own club at MIT Manipal. Students are very tolerant, there is no violence that I ever saw or heard. No ranging at all, it's very safe in that aspect, I would go on to say it might be the safest college in all of India.

Alumni/Alumna

Yes, alumni network is strong, it's everywhere. They post job openings and also give referrals. It's great overall.

Admission

I gave an exam, I scored 118/200. I was invited to counseling. I chose this course because it the best course I could get at this college. I selected a few other colleges as well like maharaja Agrasen (IP University, Delhi), I was getting cs there. However, I heard from a senior at Manipal and few others that opportunity at Manipal far exceeded the opportunity at other places. I agree with them 100% now. The admission process is simple: 1. Take the exam. 2. If you get a score they will email you with a counseling date. 3. Go to counseling at Jaipur/Manipal/Sikkim. Pay 10k to reserve your seat. 4. Pay tuition fees at counseling or while taking admission. That's it.

Faculty

4

Faculty is okay, they are knowledgeable in their field. However, people from anywhere but Karnataka may find the teachers to be difficult to interpret at first due to the accent. However, if you try it ain't difficult to comprehend. I am not being divisive, I am just telling you what I felt then. Once you get used to it, it's fine. Lectures do hold relevant industry experience, in fact, some faculty even taught at Universities around the world for 2 years and came back to teach again at MIT. I have no doubt that the faculty was competent in their subjects.

They fake a lot of their placements....now the bangalore campus currently has 40%placements but they fake the placement rates to make it look like its 80 or 90% which is sad...i heard that if u have really bad marks and couldnt get placed(a lot of ece and eee people, cause they will purposefully try to fail u so that u can apply for the couse again) they will make u sign a document were u agree u never sat for placements.

Placement Experience:

Students at RVCE become eligible for campus placements typically from the seventh semester onwards. Several reputed companies visit the campus for recruitment, offering a wide range of job opportunities to students. Some of the prominent companies include Infosys, Wipro, TCS, IBM, and Accenture, among others. These companies make a significant number of job offers across various profiles, including software development, consulting, and research. The highest package offered varies from year to year and can range from ?10-20 lakhs per annum, depending on the company and the profile offered. The average package generally falls between ?4-8 lakhs per annum. The percentage of students getting placements varies, but RVCE has a consistently high placement record, with a significant majority of students securing job offers during campus placements. As for my plans after completing the degree, I aim to explore job opportunities in the field of industrial management, leveraging the skills an
