Remarks

The college faculty stress a lot on acdemics whereas the real life experiences tell us to focus more on honing technical and soft skills outside the class room. This, along with a compulsory 75% attendance is a downside.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The course provides ample opportunity to explore our own stream as wel as coordinate with peers of other courses to collaborate on projects. It's a bit marks oriented aand the compulsory attendance of 75% is a bit disappointing. The routine in general is hectic and the exams do cause stress. But trhis can be perceived as a training mechanism for the corporate world.

Placement Experience

4

The college facilitates enough opportunities jn terms of placement interviews. I have not experienced any yet, however the statistics as supported by our seniors seem fairly above average. A lot of renowned companies come to our college for recruitments and more often than not they end up paying very high packages.

College Events

5

Revels is a cultural fest held in the summer semester and TechTatva is the major technical fest held in Autumn. Other than these two, individual clubs host their respective tech weeks and so on. They are almost entirely organised by the student committees with a little bit of advice from the senior faculty members.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fees is relatively expensive when compared to most Indian Engineering colleges. Currently, on an average, about 20 lakh rupees would be the cost of a student over four years. This includes tuition fees, average hostel and mess fees.

Fees and Financial Aid

I unfortunately have not availed any such scheme. However, the students who scored ranks within 100 in the entrance exam are given fee waivers and according to AICTE regulations, so are ones who face economical problems.

Campus Life

4.5

The gender ratio is about 8:1 males to females. There are no parties officially organised by the college, but they do exist outside the campus. There are all sorts of cultural activites, with about 70-80 clubs organising them. The college and especially the students are very tolerant with provisions provided for all categories.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

Hostel facilities are present in abundance and there is a varied amount of options for students of different economical backgrounds. However, the allotment is based on the cgpa of the student. The rooms are adequate but obviously sanitation could be improved.

Alumni/Alumna

College seniors have been extremely helpful and the alumni network provides regular talks and seminars in which they tell their stories with an attempt to inspire us. It's been a great experience. There are several clubs created for this sole reason too.

Admission

I had to write an entrance examination which consisted of questions based on physics, chemistry, maths and English at the grade 11 and 12 level. The test was in an MCQ format and had both positive and negative marks. The paper had to be completed within a limited time and a maximum of 2 attempts could be afforded. Thereafter, based on the rank ( which was based on the total score ), we were alloted seats in streams of our choice.

Faculty

3.5

Most of the professors are qualified enough, but only a handful are good teachers. However, I'm a firm believer in self-study. If the faculty being recruited could be expanded to other countries and a pre requisite of a doctorate could be made a requirement, things could be better.

From your 7th semester you become eligible to get placed and it is mandatory to get internship before you get placed which the college helps you to get and around 400-500 companies visit, and a good amount of offers are made by them. The average package stands somewhere around 11LPA -12LPA and the highest goes to 50LPA-60LPA and the median stands around 9-10LPA.

Course Curriculum Overview:

As I'm in 1st semester. I will update you after my exams. But one good thing is that from this year, internals and externals will hold same weightage i.e., 50/50 If you can score more than 45% in internals which wouldn't be that big of a deal because they'll ask most the questions from class notes. Most of the faculties are average I would say. But some are good professors too. I chose CSE because I find these topics interesting since junior school. And everyone is just jumping into cse is a reason too lol.
