Remarks

Overall it's a good university for innovative and unique courses like Water management engineering, Nanotechnology, Energy engineering, Chinese studies, Korean studies, Tiberian studies, Endangered Languages studies and many more.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

We have the best curriculum as it prepares us for future opportunities as the pattern is based in accordance with UGC NET syllabus.Exams are conducted frequently. We have three sessionals and one final exam in each semester, the marks of sessionals are added into final marks so it becomes necessary to give every test.

Placement Experience

3

Companies come for placement in different departments. In MBA department companies like ICICI, Bajaj Alliance come.In Foreign Language department companies like Amazon and Oracle come. For Humanities Schools like Chinmaya and DPS come.Highest packages are received by Foreign Language department which is about 7lpa.

College Events

3.5

Various programs are being organised by students body with the help of administration like for sports Khelotsav is organised, and academic based techno festival Navadhar is organised.Students from various universities and colleges are invited for participation.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee structure is very affordable as for Humanities is somewhere around 5,000 per semester and for technical field it is somewhere around 10,000 per semester. The students from the backward section of the society are provided with scholarship which promotes higher participation from each section of society.

Fees and Financial Aid

e-Kalyan Scholarship which is meant for students belonging to backward section of society or those whose family income is below poverty line are given government aid which cover most of their studying and staying cost each semester.

Campus Life

3.5

Gender ratio is pretty good in the university.Various international conferences are being organised in the the university with eminent guests.Students from all parts of India are there in different departments.Anti Ragging cell is made to ensure the safety of students.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

Hotel rent are cheap like 4,000 and mess fees is also less compared to what one gets in the Mai town.A room is shared by 3 people for junior students, shared by 2 people for senior students. It is allocated on the basis of distance, the person whose home is farthest from University and also considering the marks of previous semester, a merit list is prepared.

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni network is pretty fine. Many of ex students are settled in good companies, some are part of successful startups, some have gone to international universities for further studies on government scholarships.

Admission

There is CUCET exam through which one could get into certain Central Universities, mine is part of the same.Based on marks obtained in CUCET and certain weightage to previous marks, a merit list is prepared. The whole process is online. I opted for English Literature because I wanted to pursue something which will make me feel lively and studying literature makes you a better person.I enjoy each class and it matters the most.

Faculty

4

Faculties are very supportive and have a good grip on their subjects. They make the classroom environment friendly which encourage students to speak up in classes. After classes they play games like cricket with students, so it's not just a classroom bound relation.

Course Curriculum Overview:

• I have done BA in psychology that's why I always wanted continue my further studies in the same field that's I choose this course . • The curriculum prepares you for real world applications but it depends on the person how they understanding the whole course and practically implementing the teachings in the real world. • I think the area for improvement in the course curriculum and teaching methods is teachers should provide group discussion and apply games which help the to try their practical knowledge. • In the whole year only two exams are taken by University and these are internal and external exam and the level is very easy means we can easily prepare for it in weeks .

Kolhan University, Master of Arts [MA] (English)
Reviewed on Jan 15, 2025(Enrolled 2024)

Course Curriculum Overview:

Whatever that is prescribed in our syllabus, I believe is very relevant with what we need to learn. If somebody gets on the teaching line, these topics are very important for them to have a basic knowledge of that particular subject. The teachers don't actively focus on completing the syllabus, which in turn becomes a burden for the students. They need to be serious because its a matter of a childs life. The final examination has a duration of three hours and the class test has a duration of sixty minutes. The question aren't that difficulty. One who has paid attention to the lectures will for sure pass in the examination. But someone who does not know anything about the topic will mostly like to fail.
